Hey August Sleevers! Put Me On Your List! Aaahroo!

Recommended Posts

My surgary date is August 1st. On day 6 of clear liquid diet. It's tough no doubt, but I'm a stubborn, bullheaded Irish woman and this will not defeat me, I will defeat it and become healthier for it. Let's do this everyone!!!!!

Chehalis is about an hour south of me. Once I make it through the weekend I think I'm home free. Hard to keep my mind off food on the weekend, it's what we use to do. But so far so good. Having a Protein Shake now and then I think I'll go take a walk with the dog and hubby. Good luck to you also, it's gonna be sooooooo worth it!!!

I'm a newbie to this site!!! I have a surgery date of August 22nd at 6am. From Kansas here. Started my 30 day diet on Monday the 23rd, went in for EGD yesterday the 27th and had already lost 4 pounds. I'm excited for this journey and would love to communicate with fellow sleevers.

Good luck to all of you and I hope this site can be a place to go for questions.

Melissa

Hey ugot2laff that's not to far from my sister at all. Keep up the good work, weekends do seem to be a little harder at controlling the amount of food we eat.

Congrats to you and good luck....I'm trying to learn how to use this site...kinda different. : ) LOL I have to do a 30 day diet which I'm allowed 5 Protein shakes a day and 2 Protein Bars and 2 cups of certain veggies and 1 cup of certain fruit. Surgeon is trying to decrease the size of my liver. I'm excited for this next chapter in my life.

Got out of the house and went to my daughters boyfriends baseball tournament. That helped alot. Altho on the way home I had a huge craving for a hamburger, but i fought the feeling and came home and had a Protein shake instead lol

why blow it a couple days before surgery. Take care and keep me updated on your surgery.

It's always nice to get out in the fresh air. Good for you resisting that burger. You take care as well and keep me posted on your surgery as well.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
