I was told that I should keeps carbs at no more than 80 a day, I feel like I have been loosing very little, exercise at least 5 times a week some times twice a day calories at 800.

Advice please on carb intake and your experience please trying to find the problem with my stalls? Driving me crazy, maybe I'm just stressing too much and should be happy with the rate I am loosing weight, but not having the scale move or the measuring tape change is killing me and makes me want to just pig out!

I would take a guess that possibly you are not eating enough. My nut said that I should be eating 1200 calories per day as long as I am working our 5-7 times per week. She said eating less than that can cause more stalls with our body thinking it is not going to get enough. Are you getting the minimum Protein? I have found when I up my calories, that I actually lose more weight and have more success.

I try not to go over 40 g of carbs a day - but if you are exercising with intensity you might run out of gas. What form do your carbs take? fruit and veg or foods made of flour? Rice? I know for myself that I cannot eat things with flour, rice, sugar, etc. For myself I get the carbs from milk, vegetables, occasional fruits and my Vitamins and Fiber supplements have them too.

How many grams of Protein? 80+? H2O - 64 oz plus? Vitamins?

Thanks for the reply , so my nutr said I should be at 50 g per day since I am only 5'3". I keep it between 55 and 65 but I have read on here that people are up to 80. I am also not sure on the carbs I was below 80 someone suggested more uped it to 100 but now I see people on hear talk about 30 or 40 a day ??

I do 55 - 65 Protein at least 80 oz Water a day. I take opurity Multivitamin and Calcium plus a gummie Multivitamin that has a few things not in opurity. Most of my carbs are from fruit a vegetables but I do allow my self to have a bit of flour carbs. A small piece of toast, tortilla (corn) or crackers but only one in one meal of the day

My nut just told me to keep my carbs under 30. I do not do much exercise though. She said it would help me to lose the last 10 pounds in three weeks. This is a little drastic since it is a last ditch effort for me to make goal in the time I wanted to. When I first started this journey and for the past 10 months or so, I was following the 70/70 rule. No more than 70 carbs and no less than 70 Protein. Its an easy rule to apply. My doc and nut always say dont worry about calories as long as these two, carbs and Proteins are in the right amount. The calories will just fall into place. That worked for me and I lost the first 90 pounds this way. I have only been really low carbing it for about 10 days now. Its tough! I dont eat fruit and never really did on this journey. I just eat Protein mostly. I got my carbs from milk and Protein drinks mostly. I did develop a snacking habit that i had to break to do this low carb thing. Good luck to you! I know you will get lost of different advice here.

The people who work out a lot will tell you to eat more carbs, the people who dont will tell you to eat less. Maybe you could just go with something a little lower in carbs than you are right now and boost your protein up, dont worry about calories. That may do the trick for you since you are exercising so much. Good luck!

I think I will go down on the carbs, I'm not too sure if I can cut out fruit but I have changed the kind of fruit definitely no bananas, I'll cut out the flour completely thenand I'll try my hardest to not have tortillas, pastas and rice I don't have and I'll still stay away.

Thanks

It sure has worked for me to cut those carbs really low. I did not eat very many carbs during the first 9 months or so, I didnt count them really but I did mfp and knew they were in the 50-60 range and then they crept up to 90-100 as I could eat more and stopped my weight loss. Now that they are back down, I started losing again. It should be interesting to see where they need to be for me to maintain my goal once I reach it. My nut says about 70-80 should keep me in maintenance. We will see at that time. Just stay focused on low carbs and I bet you will see results!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
