6 Months Post Op. Can Eat Whole Sandwich?

Recommended Posts

BillysBelly, bro, from your avi I'd say your doing great. you know what's good & not good for you. If you enjoy that occasional dog or sandwich, I say more power to you. Guys gotta be guys sometimes.

I'm actually looking forward to hitting goal. Then I'm gonna go to El Paso and get me some Chico's Tacos. I'm thinking a single order will do the trick. I use to eat 2 doubles and a single. (I wonder if I'll still like them?)

I'm 3 months out and I can eat 3/4 of a 6" flatbread at Subway. I very rarely eat bread at all, but once in awhile it is nice to have a little sandwich!!

Now this I could t even imagine. Is there a big difference between 2 & 3 months?

Well...you might like them' date=' but...hot dogs are not considered any where near good nutrition! I know it is "American" to eat hot dogs and sugar and white flour/bread, but...this is also why Americans are so obese!

My suggestion is to select nutritious food that fuels your body in the most effective way. Go with a mostly plant-based diet! Don't be over concerned with not being able to eat unhealthy food, concentrate on eating a diet full of nutrient rich plant-based foods. Even though you've been sleeved, you can still eat junk food and you can gain weight. I think a better option is to take advantage of your awesome tool and fuel yourself with good nutrition.

That's my two cents.[/quote']

I agree 100%

I am just 4.5 weeks out. The idea of eating a hotdog again (season ticket holder for the Texas Rangers) makes me want to cry. Right now' date=' as you guys know, there are no sandwhiches or hot dogs.

Glad to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel - or better yet, a hotdog with my name on it.

GO RANGERS![/quote']

I had a dream this afternoon about eating a nice hot dog!!! Glad I'm not the only one!

Did you have to be catheterized for VSG surgery and if yes, was it painful?

I had my first Subway sandwich in Vegas this week on vacation. I went across to the Casino Royale because I didn't want to spend 29.99 for the buffet at the Mirage when I knew I wouldn't eat enough to justify that price lol. I ordered a 6 inch grilled chicken breast with mayo and lettuce. I was able to eat 2/3 of the chicken breast and some of the lettuce. I ate a little tiny bit of the bottom of the wheat bread ( about 1/3 and none of the top of the bread). It filled me up. I don't think I will order Subway very often because their bread is yummy and tempting. Maybe every once in a while....

So I am 5 1/2 months post op and that is about what I can eat.

My younger son has always done this kind of conversation shift. We'd be having a family discussion at dinner about something and my youngest would suddenly ask a totally unrelated off the wall question. My oldest son would always raise his arms above his head and do the twilight zone music and say "Bubba has jumped the shark!"

How far out are you?

I order a kids pack sandwhich- no bread- (ever) just the meat- cheese- tomatoes and spinach- sometimes olives - and it takes me two sittings just to eat that! I'm almost 10 weeks out.

Oh duh- never mind- I saw how far! Lol

Sounds so much like my kids :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
