What is the pain like right after the sleeving? I hear from some pain & others say more like nausea, any input?

I had my surgery on the 25th of June and I tell you these doctors really know how to manage the pain. They will give you enough pain medications that you won't feel much or any at all. (At least I was just fine with the very little pain that I had) and also remember it gets better by hour - every day. Good luck to you.

I think the pain of course varies by each person. I had my buyer's remorse in the thick of pain. My husband said my surgeon said it all went well but for me the pain and nausea kept me grounded. Hindsight I think the pain med caused the nausea. Every time I tried to get up I got sick. The day after my surgery they changed my pain med to oral instead of IV and I was a new woman. Got to go home a little while later. I have improved every day since. I just want to encourage any one who does have more pain to hang in there because it does get better fast. Best wishes!

Hello..had my surgery July 2nd. The only pain I experienced was due to the gas they put in your stomach. It took me 3 days to feel better. Vomiting, etc.

Imagine doing 500 sit ups. Kinda like that. 1 week out and iI was done with the pain meds except at night. Less than two weeks out and I was back at work. it was much less intense that having the band done.

Almost 4 weeks out and i have only slight pain at the incisions, but it's very minor.

Sleeved July 3rd....hardly any pain. I did use the pain pump about 3 times after surgery - more to sleep than for pain. The main pain has been gas pain not actual surgery pain. It did feel like I had done a few sit-ups but not horrible. Like the 3rd or 4th day after a good work out. :)

I had my surgery on July 2nd and I was not in any real pain either. I used my pain pump 3-4 times depending on how sore I was feeling and to put me back to sleep. Actually the nurses kept me reminding me I could use it every 15 minutes. I told them that honestly I was o.k. I had two bouts with nausea but not vomiting. I am six days out and I took off Monday but honestly I could really go in to work because I feel well enough to do so.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
