Help Me Find A Protein Supplement That I Like!

Recommended Posts

I am slacking seriously on my Protein supplements because, after being on a liquid diet for so long, I have run into "taste burnout." All the ones I have tried leave me with a horrible after taste or bad breath. Here are the ones I have tried so far with no success:

Protimax

Atkins

GNC's whey Protein powder (THE MOST HORRIBLE STUFF EVER!!!)

Any suggestions?

1 cup of Fage 0 yogurt has 23 grams of Protein. I like it made into a shake. I blend the yogurt, 3 tablespoons of Splenda, a couple of strawberries, a splash of orange juice, and about 1/4 cup Water.

Also, the Anderson Split Pea Soup has 9 grams of Protein per cup.

Personally, I liked the unjury chicken and the GNC whey in vanilla, so I'm not much help there.

Ditto on the Premier chocolate shakes. Don't taste artificial at all.

Premier shakes can be purchased at Sam's also. Besides chocolate which I like, they have added the vanilla recently. Someone mentioned the GNC in Vanilla, I also take this. Another favorite is nectar, especially the Chocolate Truffle and Vanilla Bean. Instead of buying the tubs, you can purchase small single use packs of Nectar to sample the different flavors.

I love the premier chocolate shakes, so good! I buy mine at Meijer, for me they can get kinda expensive, they sell them in a 4 pack, maybe it would be cheaper if you buy them in bulk at costco or Sams Clu b.

I've been looking for Protein that is powered that taste good, I ordered a sample pack of nectar at BJ's Baratric, you get to choose what flavors you like and you get 11, Im hoping I like one of those so I can just buy a huge tub of Protein from now on lol.

How much Protein is in the nectar? I've heard good things about the Premier. Looks like I will be making a trip to Sam's tomorrow.

The yogurt one sounds good, but, being only 6 weeks post op, I couldn't eat a cup of anything if I tried. lol

Premier shakes are 30 grams of Protein, 1 gram of sugar, and are less than a $1 each if you get them at Sams/Costco. I prefer the chocolate over the vanilla - supposedly they make strawberry, too, but I've never seen that unicorn.

The other thing great about them is that they are pre-made so they are great to travel with, etc.

I haven't found one person who does not like Premier.

You can get the nectar sample pack directly from Sytrax. The phone number is in the food forum under places to get samples under Protein drinks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
