Patrick,

How are you doing/feeling?

Doing pretty good, little sore and tender..

One of the incision sites is on a fat roll that has shrinked to half it's size and folded inwards a bit, and that one is a little tender right now...

All of you are inspiring....my surgery is coming up on 7/17 at 9:30am. Super excited along with the jitters...not the kind where you want to back out just the kind from the unknown.

Just wondering how I will handle the pain...guess i will find out soon enough.

Ready to get back into my life as the person I always knew was hiding under here.

I was having this a lot especially yesterday...wife was gone and it was actually kinda scaring me thought I was having either a heart attack or embolism... that's when I decided I really need to get a handle on my gas... so I can tell if it is serious.... made my wife go get gasx strips and took 2 every 4 hours.

I also still have tightness when breathing... but I'm pretty sure that's still gas too. But it is scary and I don't Know how one could differentiate the gas from something serious...after my breast area it went left of my sternum where my heart is... I got up and walked a bit and it moved so I figured it was gas.

Well, the only thing left tonight is to pack a few small things and take a shower. Just a little over 12 hours before my 7:30 surgery. I'll be there at 5:30 and they can start any time after that. I'll see the rest of you on the Loser's Bench!

Yes!!!!! I was sleeved July 2 as well. Saturday it felt like something was getting stuck in my esophagus. yesterday the discomfort had moved a little lower and today about the same. I noticed I could drink more than a teeny tiny sip yesterday and today seems about the same. It really helped me to just get up and move around to ease the discomfort. tried some very soupy grits this morning, maybe 1&1/2 tbsp and experiencing a small amt of discomfort. so tired of broth. for the most part, I had very little of the post op gas pain. I guess because I just walked and walked and walked and walked. So far, doing FABULOUS! Better than I expected.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
