So I had surgery 8 weeks ago. Had a very rough first 5 weeks. In the hospital 3 times 2ed surgery found a piece of scar tissue fix that, thought things would get better...SIGH...

I am having a problem like when I drink fluids, I can bend over to pick up something and the Fluid will just come right back up into my mouth. I am still having so many problems with throwing up. It doesnt matter how slow I eat or drink or how little I eat I always seem to throw up. The only thing I can manage to hold down is oatmeal. Is this normal???? anyone else have these problems????

Someone please give me some advice. This sleeve is just kicking my butt. I have lost 45 pounds in 8 weeks which in itself kinda scares me because the weight is coming off so fast. Which would be great if I was able to hold down some food...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

How long ago was your second surgery? I would think you would need to restart your liquids to mushy to soft foods routine again since your stomache is healing from another surgery. If it was on your stomache? I stay upright for about 30 minutes at the least after eating or drinking anything. Can u tell me more about your second surgery? I'm 6 weeks out and just got approved for soft foods. On week 3-5 I was on mushy foods.

My second surgery was 3 weeks ago. They went in and removed the piece of scar tissue. I can even try to eat mashed potatoes with gravey and it will make me sick. I just feel like I am never going to figure it out. I have tried measuring out my food. Like 2 oz and it all comes back up. I can eat 1/2 pack of instant oatmeal with a splash of milk and it stays down fine.????

So I dont know if there is something wrong or if this is all normal???

I would think that you should consider your diet to be the same as someone 3 weeks out. Since you just had surgery on an area that just had surgery then you are most likely swollen and still healing. Start to baby your stomach as if it is only three weeks out. Go back to Protein Drinks and/or broths with Protein Powder added. Sip your fluids again and take no more than an ounce of broth or cream Soup at a time. Now this is just my thoughts, but checking with your doctor is best. I do think your stomach is just healing again and needs tender care and time. I sure hope this helps I'm so sorry you are going thru this, have you asked your doctor?

Ps - instant mashed potatoes are easier to digest and maybe minus the gravy for a while.

Wow! Sorrry you are having these difficulties. I've only thrown up twice in 20 weeks. Not a good feeling. :)

Can I ask... what is your doctor saying about all this? Is she/ he aware of your problems?

My nutritionist has made all the difference to me. She has alot of answers to my sticking points about food and related problems. Do you have a nut?

Good luck. You are in my thoughts.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
