We are having similar experiences I am also in the hospital hoping to be released this afternoon. I am feeling a little better now because I just got back from taking a walk to try to release some of the gas pain. My itching has subsided for the most part and I can't wait to go home. Hope you feel better.

Angie...if you have a bulb drain in, and they're "stripping" the tubing periodically, that may be the source of some of your shoulder pain. The stripping creates a vacuum against the diaphragm, which pulls on the nerves that affect the shoulder area....causing a sharp aching pain in the shoulder. I experienced this every time my tubing was stripped, and it lasted at least 20-25 minutes every time! Wishing you a quick recovery!

I went home with the drain and I had to strip it myself. I was in the hospital 5 days and I had the drain for 9. Getting the drain out was the biggest relief because I could barely breath because it was up against my diaphragm.

Good luck to you all and best wishes for an easy recovery.

Every day is better than the day before.

Angie~ Glad to hear from you. Considered starting the same titled thread, I'll hang out w you, if you dont mind. :)

I hope you get to go home soon, feels better there (to me). I was able to sleep more. I found out the hard way that I'm not ready to skip my four hour date w Mr liquid Lortab yet. I was initially afraid of the stuff, cause it knocked me out (10 ml)! But I tolerate a 5ml dose much better. I find it funny that it starts to work before I can finish sipping it! :D I found the one from my pharm has a slight apple juice flavor to it, so I've added 5 ml of Motts for tots, no sugar added apple juice to it to help with the taste and add fluids and a few calories for me and my strength.

Curious to hear how you progress. Take care, sip slowly and walk. Cheers!

I think the hospital was def the hardest time but it sounds like you are progressing and doing great! Hopefully you get to go home soon...sometimes it seems the comfort of your own home helps with the healing process :)

The crazy talk I hear is from the gas they give you in surgery. I had weird dreams and was telling everyone I was going to be flying them home personally while wide awake. Also, if you place your hands on your head while just resting, the gas has a chance to move much faster and this helped me as well. I'm glad you have a lot of friends and family around, I didn't but I had a lot of people around me that had the same thing so it helped. Best of luck.

Im finally home ! Sore as all get out and can barely move...but I'm home. Over the surgery hurdle. Now Im upset with my husband and son. Son never came to visit me..he's 19 still living at home. I walked through the door and he wanted to tell me something that happened at work with his dad. I never ever do this but I said" Idon't care" and walked away. My husband griped and complained the whole time after I called him up the hospital ato pick me up because it was interfearing with his work at home...own his construction company. OH>>>>and on the way home, he pulls though slim chickens...a resturant here and asked if I wanted anything! I said no and just cried looking out the window...and thats when I decided. I don't need anyone for this. Get the H*** out of my way you sorry people ! If I made it through surgery alone and 3 days at the hospital in horrible pain, I don't need you now. So, I know this will be along rough road, but its my road and stay the H**** off of it before I run your A** over. By the way, I think my hormones are little off today after the surgery. Now, Im going to sit back in my fluffy recliner, watch some tv, sip on my Water and eater my banana baby food !

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
