Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals

Recommended Posts

I've reached my sept goal. Today I've lost 12 lbs. yes I am happy about it but I am hungry.

Maria, I weigh self naked, dressed, before and after going to the bathroom before and after I eat(when I used to eat) before I go to bed... I take a scale on vaction, sometimes. I admire someone who can stay away from the scale especially while losing weight!

I plan not to go back up the scale so I'll just report my losses as they happen!

Congrats, Lila! and yes, you are nuts! LOL

I think you need to recruit someone to hide the scale on you. You're gonna drive yourself insane doing that! Especially when the lulls in losing come!

Lila, Congrats about your weight loss. You are doing great! :clap2: :clap2:

I kinda understand about the frequent weigh ins. I now try to limit it to once a week now but it's just so hard to resist the temptation, but bringing a scale with you on vacation??!!!

Anyway, I got some good news today. Yesterday, I joined Canadian Lapbanders. I posted a messages that asked if anyone lived near where I lived and if so, did they know of someone who did fills around here. I received several replies. Dr Coburn was in Ottawa recently and trained a physician to do fills. I called his office today but he could not do the fill until late October. It happens that he is recovering from surgery himself. So I am off to Mississauga for my first fill but after that I will be able to have them in Ottawa. Ottawa is only 1 hours drive as opposed to a 6 hours drive. There is also a Dr in Montreal that performs lapband surgery that may also be a possibility.

Mandi, I also saw a post about someone who will be trained in Pictou NS to do fills. Is this the one you were telling us about?

Hey wheezy... I saw that, and that's awesome news! Probably best to get Dr. C to do your first one anyways. Hopefully it'll last you a long time, and that new Dr. will get lots of other people to practice on before you

How far are you away from Montreal?

Yup, that's the same person in NS that I heard of.

Mandi, I agree about experience, let him practice on others first. His receptionist told me his first two patients were scheduled in October.

It's only a 1 hour drive east to Montreal for me. You know what that means? Montreal is only a 12 hours drive and Ottawa is a 13 hour drive for you if you ever get fed up of waiting for someone to do a fill or a unfill in the Maritimes. You could make a long weekend of it. Montreal and Ottawa both have great sites to visit. Have you ever been to Old Montreal? It's really pretty. Great shopping too!

Have you seen that commercial for Quarker's weight loss oatmeal.

The women are walking around with scale chained to their leg. That's me, I just run the chain up my pant leg and tape the scale to my big butt! Then I have it when ever I need it. It's like my security blanket.:funscale::wacko:

Way to go Maria and Lila. I'm 5 lbs down so far this month, but none this past week. I tend to lose only every second week so with luck I may still reach my 8 lbs by this weekend.

Speaking of next month, I'm (planning on) doing the October challenge on the June bandsters thread, if I can only remember it. It's 1200 cals, 64 0z of Water and 30 minutes of exercise each day. I haven't been calorie counting, and I've been doing bugger all for exercise. I'm on my feet all day but that doesn't count. I know that all I have to do is take a 45 min walk each day to accelerate the weight loss. I'm just feeling light enough to get back to it though. However, every morning I make some lame excuse and plan on the next day. All I need is that first day.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
