Have a cup of coffee and enjoy it! Straws are the only way i can drink slowly. When i try to drink out of a cup, i always drink too much and it hurts. Straws help me measure each sip. I don't even think about it anymore.

In time, try a couple fries. I bet you will think they are nasty. All i can taste is grease and they leave a funky film on my tongue.

Alcohol...sure, but be careful. I get tipsy on just a few sips.

You will find you can eat normal...just smaller amounts. Your probably just in your freak out, "this crap sucks" phase. It gets soooo much better!!!

try a small cup of coffee and add a vanilla Protein shake. It is soo good. I get my caffine and my Protein and I don't need sweetener because the shake makes it sweet. I swear I love it!

Does that kinda make it taste like coffee with Creamer and sugar? How strong is the vanilla taste over the coffee taste?

I do this all the time! But I use instant coffee powder (Bru - the most popular brand in India). I just add 1 tsp coffee powder to my vanilla Protein Powder and blend it with cold milk or milk + ice cubes. I dont like the skimmed milk or soy milk so I just use regular milk (3%). I love that cold coffee shake!! :)

The only way that I can get my Protein Shake in is by adding either coffee or reduced-fat PB. I like both variations.

The vanilla taste isnt strong at all. It tastes like coffee with creamer.

I assume they use a blender...but I'll tell you how I do it with just a spoon...google "powdered peanut butter". Heaven.

I love it too Jazzmin...the protein & coffee mix is really good. I do the same thing except I use iced Decaf coffee. The caffeine was giving me heartburn.

You're right, I use a blender. I use the JIF PB and blend it with cold milk or milk+ice cubes and Protein powder. I blend it twice to get a smooth latte.

I haven't tried powdered PB. Need to check if it is available in India. Thanks for the tip! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
