My Success In Hair Loss....

Recommended Posts

First I want to state this is my success and mayn't necessarily work for you....

!st important factor as we all know is Protein and plenty of it, if you have difficult eating your allotted amount as I do try various Protein drinks. I personally vomit all Protein Drinks except the unjury chicken flavor Protein powder.

2nd important factor is plenty of Water. It is important to stay hydrated throughout the day.

That being said here is the formula I use every day. My only regret is not beginning sooner, like right after my surgery.

Oh, and just a quick reminder, we average a loss of one hundred strands of hair a day, just an important fact to make you feel slightly better.

Every morning and evening I take one Biotin 7500mg.

I condition my hair with Nioxin every nite and Shampoo twice a week with Nioxin. Sally Beauty's store sells Nioxin in a off brand called Nutri-ox, it works just as well and saves some money.

Afterwards I use Doo Gro (found at Sally's Beauty), which is an ethnicity lotion that is used as an leave-in product (some of the ingredients are oat Protein, shea butter, beeswax, etc.), combined with Argan oil treatment, use both sparingly.

This combination has worked for me and may help one of you. Of course we all of varying opinions if any of these products really do work, however I can say honestly it has for me.

Good Luck

Good tips and I'm glad you were able to avoid hairloss. I drank plenty of Water, always got my Protein in, and took Biotin. Still, at 3 months out I started losing hair. A LOT of hair. It fortunately started to slow down at around 6 months out, and a month later was pretty much falling out at a normal rate.

I was glad to see you put the dosage on the Biotin. I have been taking it since 5/09, 1000mg a day and it has (knock on wood) kept me from losing hair. I have a lap band and did not get thinning hair. In fact my hair dresser said my hair got thicker. So give it a try if you haven't already

Thanks so much for info. I am very worried of getting bald spots not just from the surgery but 2mo. after my brother age52 had stroke and died suddenly then last week my younger brother 42 had a heart attack and died. I understand stress from this type of loss can cause Hair loss. I started loosing hair at 3 1/2mo. it seemed to slow down after a couple weeks but this week started to see lots when I Shampoo. Oh well they say it will grow back.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
