I'm glad you liked him. He did my lapband on 07 and never believed me when I told him it slipped 3 days later. He removed my gall bladder a few months ago and FINALLY confirmed that it had slipped.

And that's why I did not have lapband....so afraid of that happening! What do you do? Get the sleeve or fix band?

Hi all;

Just a reminder that there is a So Cal Sleevers group (see top tab) for you to join. Great place to talk to other local VSG patients in various stages of sleeve journey. Good luck to you all and remember we are here to cheerlead you onto victory. Hope to hear about your success!

Here in Mo Valley. Surgery tomorrow with Dr Fadorka. I' ve been a nurse for more years than I like to admit to but am having trouble switching to patient. Don't want to be the patient who brings her whole house but neither do I want to forget whats important. Everything at home seems to be set except taking the.dogs to the sitters,which means I still have 6 dogs to bath and groom. 4 are up.fot adoption. Any takers?

So it looks like the last post on this thread was in 2012, but I thought I would try to restart this group because I'm from this area. I'm having my sleeve done in August at St. Bernadine's in San Bernardino with Dr. Fedorka as my surgeon. I'm going through Kaiser. Anyone else currently from this area going to get sleeved soon?

In from San Bernardino County with a surgery date of July 17, 2017 in Riverside county with Dr. Fedorka. I am excited to see other people from So.Cal. here. Is there another meeting area because I do not see much activity here? I am excited to see all the success stories and even some pitfalls that I can learn from. :D

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

        Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
