  12. You're lucky. I was also sleeved on 08/03. I visited my doctor today and I don't even get to start on puréed food for another whole day. Still on full liquids. Enjoy the soft solids[emoji2]
  13. I'm 5 days post op and I feel extremely nauseous still. I hope it doesn't last too much longer. I feel like I'm always trying to hole every thing in. Even water.
  14. That's funny because I also have heartburn almost on daily basis, but both Dr. Fedora and Dr. Morali were against me going with the bypass. They said it would bottom out my blood sugar levels and cause more problems in the long run. They also believe that my heart burn will improve with weight loss. I told them that I read it can get worse after surgery but they both said the chances of it happening were slim. So essentially they gave us opposing advice.
  15. I think if you have a surgery date and a pre-op appointment, then you are approved. There is nothing else to look for in the mail because they wouldn't have let you make those appointments without prior approval. So exciting, I can't wait. My surgery date is Aug 3rd. Glad to have a pal relatively close by. [emoji16]

  18. So it looks like the last post on this thread was in 2012, but I thought I would try to restart this group because I'm from this area. I'm having my sleeve done in August at St. Bernadine's in San Bernardino with Dr. Fedorka as my surgeon. I'm going through Kaiser. Anyone else currently from this area going to get sleeved soon?
  19. I'm Angi. Hello. I'm 41. I am a mother of two teenagers 18 and 14, who are pretty independent of me. I think I may have empty nest syndrome already, even though the 14 y.o is still living at home. My husband is a driver and it takes him away from the house up to 6 days a week. I work. I'm a preschool teacher in an infant and toddler program. I am pretty active all day, but I love to eat. I love sweets and breads. Food is always available at my job, all day long. And I think I have very little self control, which is how I ended up being the size I am. Heaviest weight was 284. I'm 5'5 I started my journey with weight loss surgery inquiry in October of 2016. My classes began in November 2016 and I finished them at the end of February 2017. I finally met with my surgeon and I have a date for surgery on August 3rd 2017. I'm going through Kaiser Permenente of S.Ca. I am excited and nervous... I have lost a little bit of weight in preparation but it's been very slow going. I can't wait to get the ball rolling.
