July Sleevers

What are July Sleevers doing to pass the time? I have another month left for the end of the year and I don't know what to do. I was told not to start my pre-op liquid diet yet , I have not a clue as to what to do while waiting? I am hearing all these numbers about percentage of weightloss after surgery do you know is the wightloss percentage 30% 50% less or more?

Health scare group: last Sunday, July 1st, I became severely dehydrated w/ severe tummy cramps, & excruciating diarrhea. I ended up passing out completely on my bathroom floor 3 times, & once in the emergency room where I was until 4am Monday morning. My electrolytes & sodium were very low, & the ER / dr pumped fluids in me, all tests (including CAT scan of my tummy), & vitals came back normal thank goodness. But I was diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu), along with severe dehydration. I was put on a strong antibiotic for a week & my band to sleeve surgery date was postponed (it was originally scheduled for yesterday, July 5th). I've been convalescing all week at home, and making sure to drink plenty of fluids including Gatorade :)

Having my surgery postponed due to getting sick was no problem at all, what was scary was passing out CONTINUALLY from the dehydration caused by the severe diarrhea, brought on by the culprit that I caught, the stomach flu (yuck).

I'm feeling about 95% and will be having my surgery this coming Thursday, July 12 :-) I'm stoked! ....vhoke1 (Vikki).

*My updated band to sleeve surgery date: July 12, 2012*

so happy you're feeling better. sending prayers

What an experience... My surgery is on the 24th of July in Mexico. It is a present from my husband. He must have gotten tired of me being tired and complaining. He is the one that has done all the research and then presented it to me. Am I a lucky lady or what.. I would like to be added to this group for the 24th, please. Thank you. On another blog I found a list of things that was put together by ones that have gone before as to the things that make life a little easier while in the hospital. Lilmissdiva has it listed on her face book profile. You all may already know about it. Was helpful for me.

Less than a week before the surgery with Dr. Aceves on July 12th!!

I think it's that normal mix of nerves, a little frustration with the pre-op diet and questioning of, "Is this the right decision for me?" but I just want to get through this week and get on with it...

Okay girls and boys my surgery date is July 17th. I am excited and a little scared but I know this is a good thing. I have HBP on medication, high cholesterol and should be on meds, arthritis in both knees and have strong family history of diabetes. Starting weight was 209lbs. I have been on pre op liquid diet since July 1st and now weigh 202 according to my morning weigh on my scales in my birthday suit. Pre op diet has not been hard until tonight when I cheated an had a small bite of Arby's roast beef and licked the horseradish packet.

Would like to have a few July sleevers to keep up with each other and share the good and the bad.

My surgeon is in Conway,SC. Dr. Morris Washington and he is great. I actually am a Registered Nurse and work in the OR with Dr. Washington so I get to see 1st hand what he does in the OR and how he treats his patients. He is very passionate about his work and his patients.
