What are July Sleevers doing to pass the time? I have another month left for the end of the year and I don't know what to do. I was told not to start my pre-op liquid diet yet , I have not a clue as to what to do while waiting? I am hearing all these numbers about percentage of weightloss after surgery do you know is the wightloss percentage 30% 50% less or more?

TheNewMimi,

Good luck on your surgery. We are here for you. I couldn't have done it without all the support here either. It is just way to scarey. But I would see people doing well and that would ease my fears.

My surgery is Tuesday too!!

I will keep you in my prayers! Are you just on pins and needles??? I am shampooing carpets just to keep busy lol

Thank you guys so much! I am on pins and needles! The clear liquids are making plenty of room for me to clean! I have shampooed everythig! Which, if you think about it is kind of awesome bc I have found I have so much time! Then, you get kind of disgusted when you realize that all of this "time" was spent eating, thinking about eating, cooking, snacking... It's very liberating! But, at the same time, my mind is playing tricks and I have sadness and loss for food. How sick and twisted is that? I am mourning Olive Garden breadsticks and baked ziti. Wow...

Day 5 of my preop was a bad day for mourning food. I know exactly what you are feeling!!! When that happened I came to this sight and looked at all the before and after shots and that made me feel much much better!!!!

Lol, my surgery is Tuesday too & I'm getting nervous & excited!! I'm only on clear liquids monday

I had a mourning period before surgery also. It was over once I woke up from recovery. Not even a blip on the radar. I'm really amazed with my lack of interest in food. I know eventually I'll have a bit of buyers remorse, but right now I am guided by my undying optimism. Instead of Olive Garden breadsticks, I play with protein shakes. It's the same enthusiasm. :) and enjoy your clean house. I wish I had cleaned mine before surgery :)

PLEASE ADD/ CHANGE YOURSELF AT WILL

Just copy the list, paste into the reply box, add yourself to the appropriate date, and post. There is another list in the "Hey July sleevers!" thread and it would be great if you could add to that one too.

Thanks everyone![/quote']

Good luck Just got back and it was a great experience. Who is your Dr? I had Dr Lopez.

Sent from my iPad using VST

This particular thread was a lifesaver last night. I was on day 3 of clear liquids and when I went to bed last night, I started feeling puny, sweaty, shaky, my stomach was in knots... I thought I was starving to death. All I wanted was a piece of bread! I just knew it was going to calm down my stomach. Well, I read this support group page instead and all of you veterans were posting positive things to people who felt like me saying that it was a sort of withdraw and to hang in there. Well I listened, didn't eat the bread, and had the worst nights sleep ever. BUT, I woke up this morning, felt 100% better and proud that I didn't give in to the old me! I'm on my way friends and I am proud that I stared my demons straight in the eye! I'm ready to rock this surgery tomorrow! THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!
