What are July Sleevers doing to pass the time? I have another month left for the end of the year and I don't know what to do. I was told not to start my pre-op liquid diet yet , I have not a clue as to what to do while waiting? I am hearing all these numbers about percentage of weightloss after surgery do you know is the wightloss percentage 30% 50% less or more?

How are all the 7/31 ers doing? I'm home, feeling great & down 6 lbs. just had first shower & protein shake. No pain meds. Only pain I had was in lungs so I'm doing my breathing machine apparatus they gave me at ospital. I'm walking some & last few days I rested alot. Tough to get liquids in. How is everyone lse doing?

Doing good! A little tired of the gurgly stomach and the pain/weird sensation when I sip stuff. Done a lot of walking today and have only taken one pain pill! I just want my tummy to get under control! It's hard to get in your fluids when it hurts to sip. I did drink an entire protein shake. It took me two and a half hours but I did it! :)

I can relate! Gurgle tummy, no pain meds me either. I've walked some. Had 1st bm. Ate 1/4 protein shake, 1/2 a jello, 1/2 v8, 1 yogurt w/ protein.

I was sleeved on Monday, so I'm 4 days out. I also had a large hiatal hernia repair, and i was unable to keep even ice chips down in the hospital. They kept me an extra day. The edema in my stomach was BAD, and it wasnt allowing my stomach to empty. My incisions are quite sore. Only really taking pain meds at ***ht to help me sleep. I can sleep on my sides if I brace myself with pillows. I'm only allowed to have Gatorade, isopure, broth, tea, jello for the first week. The I can add in protein shakes (which I happen to like). From my highest weight a couple of weeks before my surgery (right before my preop diet started), I'm down 12 lbs. I know I have a lot of bloating in my stomach still. I haven't had gas pain too much. It does hurt some to sip. Everything is room temperature. I need to try to peppermint tea. I'm not feeling hungry, and there is some gurgling in my stomach, but not awful. It was worse in The hospital. Just pretty tired and resting a lot. Trying to get up and walk around some... Find it exhausting at this point though.

Luckily my husband started his own diet that he's on, and it helps not to have to really cook food. I have 2 small children, but they are pretty easy to cook for.

It keeps getting better! Hang in there! I'm finding the protein shakes I liked b4, I'm it all that keen on now:( any suggestions?

I'm 9 days sleeved. I'm feeling so bloated and have pains on my left side and center of my tummy. I have been walking like crazy any other suggestions to help with this?

You can also try a warm or hot compress to soothe the pain and gas x strips work as well

What to do for a sweet tooth? ughhhhhh

I'd say Popsicles, pb2, torani sugar free syrup.....what are you craving?

Try sf jello or pudding...

Hello all July sleevers. My surgery was July 10 and I am almost 6 weeks PO. I've lost 25lb. and have hit the first plateau, ughhhh is all I can say. By reading other post and from close friends who have sleeved before me I really am trying not to get too discouraged. I'm very excited about doing some strength training and then at the end of August I'm going to start Zumba twice a week.

So glad that my energy level has finally come back. I was amazed at how long it took to come back.

Good luck all.
