Please Help With Puree Stage

Recommended Posts

I cannot think of anything that qualified for this stage except some cream Soups. I need to take advantage of this stage to test my tummy and get some nutrients.

I start that stage tomorrow. Going to boil me a sweet potato and throw that sucker in the blender!! I have been thinking of that all day!

pudding, applesauce, fat free yogurt with no fruit at the bottom!

They even say baby food but I'm not going that far lol

ANYTHING soft that can be pureed in a blender or w/a blender stick. Did you get a bunch of papers from your doc? There might be food ideas in there for the different stages post-op. I've got a ton of stuff from my doc. I'm still trying to go thru it all. Hang on, let me see what my paperwork says...

MY doc has me on Protein shakes and drinks for the first 2 weeks.

3-4 weeks= the usual eggs of all sorts (scrambled, poached, boiled, substitute), yogurts, cottage cheeses, Peanut Butter (b/c of my band process I still can't say PB as a shortcut for the food!), low fat or part skim cheeses, dry couscous (?), skim milk, soy milk.

Week 4 add: beens of all sorts, lentils, fish of all sorts, nuts of all sorts, seafood of all sorts, quinoa.

He calls that his Level 2 diet. At level 3 you're heading in to week 5-6 and adding chicken/turkey first, followed by pork, beef, etc the following weeks.

Definitely check your paperwork or call your doc's office or the Nut if you're working with one.

Good luck!!

Someone asked this last week and I typed up the list of ideas from the doctor's office and I can't find where I posted here. If I find it I will send you a link.

My blender became my best friend during this stage. I blended bananas, strawberries, melons and made yummy sorbet and pudding. I also blended my protien shake with fruit and 1% lactose free milk which made it yummy and tolerable.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
