I know I have read about people complaining of eggs not sitting well after VSG, but I had a few bites of a softly scrambled egg for Breakfast and hours later I'm having some pain. Could it still be from the egg? The pain is mild and comes and goes...

I know I have read about people complaining of eggs not sitting well after VSG,

mrsnate

i also heard that many stomachs didn't tolerate eggs. On the other hand i make one very light scrambled egg at least 3 times a week. No problem with my sleeve. Phew, cause i love eggs.

i remember the first time i made my scrambled egg, i looked at it and it was so small, i said are you kidding me? but it was plenty for me. UmUmUm

best

Could it be gas from the egg. I loved eggs prior to surgery. I've tried to eat them several times and they taste awful. But i can eat them if they are mixed in a salad like tuna.< /p>

Well the pain went away and it must have been the eggs. I think I'll wait a while before I try them again. Thanks for the input, this forum is so awesome!

Same thing happened to me but I tried again each week and I can finally tolerate eggs. Happy cause its high Protein, low carb breakfast! Putting Cereal on the back burner as I'm about to eat normal not just soft foods.....too many carbs...looking forward to the crunch of salad!

Sorry to hear about the egg pain! I've heard the same thing regarding eggs! SO weird because so many docs list it as a good food to try during pureed/soft phases. Curious if the same thing happens to people when they eat egg salad or eggs in tuna salad? Good luck with eggs next time though :)

I too had trouble with eggs last week, made me so very sick.

But I tried them scrambled with a little bit of cheese this morning, and I was able to kerp it down with no problem!! It was only about 2 spoonfuls, but it went well with my 2 strips of turkey bacon!! What a great Mother'sDay breakfast

I wonder how much of this nausea is just a digestive system in shock. When I was 15 my appendix burst and in the weeks following the surgery even the thought of food, almost any kind of food, was sickening. I lived on broth, pretty much by choice. A few weeks out from the appendectomy I was able to eat normally but my appetite was substantially reduced for quite a while. I lost 40 pounds (keep in mind that I was still a growing boy) and became athletic for the first time in my life. All this without any surgery on my stomach itself. Of course two weeks of hospital food when I was in isolation probably didn't hurt either. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
