September Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Don't applaud me to prematurely. Technically that was Sat a.m. weight. Then I spent Sat night at in-laws for my DH's B-Day and didn't get back til 2am this morning. After all the potato Soup, strawberry cheesecake icecream and chocolate sauce straight from the bottle (damn that Hershey's Syrup they keep in the fridge at all times) I was too afraid to get on scale before work for fear I lost all the headway I'd been making.

I don't plan on getting back on that scale until Tuesday or Wednesday now. Hopefully if I gained any I can pull it back off again over the next couple days.

My weigh in this am is 206. up down up down. I'm getting dizzy.

Time to get back on track!!!!

I have reached 45% of my original weight loss goal of 100 pounds.

But I am really happy with my SLOW but pretty steady loss.

Lisa: I haven't actually developed "stage fright" yet, but I can see that it definitely could happen! I have had several problems just like you mentioned when we were at dinner with friends. Although today it happened at noon with just my DH and me at lunch. I brought home practically my entire meal (minus 2 small bites). I was so unhappy that I went out and bought some ice cream to placate myself. How destructive is that!!! Now I know I'm going to wind up weighing more tomorrow when I get on the scales to report my loss or gain for the challenge. And I imagine there is some swelling in the area of my band because it feels sore.

I have to admit that I just don't have the whole issue of being friends with my band and being happy that it's here for me. I would say that 80% of the time I use it and love it. The other 20% I'm still a bit at odds with it. But I can say this: I am 100% happy that I got it. So far, the situation isn't perfect but it is way, way better than before the band! I haven't continued to lose the way I would have liked, but I haven't gained back the weight I lost either.

To those out there who are revolted by the thought that a bandster would go buy ice cream after a bad incident, I gotta tell you that a few months ago I would have been grossed out too. I know some of you have perfect records and fantastic results and I hope that it stays that way for you. But for those of us who still have struggles off and on, please show some compassion. :kiss You know we don't want to screw this up, we are fighting to make it work, but we're human and we have lots of mind hunger that we have to work on. :phanvan

I can definitely understand your need/want to have ice cream after a bad incident. Been there, done that. Trying hard to break that cycle.

BE STRONG!

No loss for me this week. I ran, hiked, went rock climbing, swam, fished and did a lot of house cleaning. All I got was sore knees, a suntan and a clean house (and a small catfish!). It will come off though, I know. It just doesn't want to do it on Mondays

Had a half a pound loss. I feel silly even posting it, but I just can't face another week of showing no loss here.

Although I was scheduled for a fill last week, the dietician and I decided that I should wait a week for a fill and guess what?! I got a phone call this morning and my doc has had a family "crisis" of some sort and is going out of town. They don't know for sure when he will be back. I am really bummed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
