September Bandsters

Recommended Posts

I have been practicing my eating habits (even on my bad food). I'm trying to take small bites, chewing until mush, and trying to not drink with meals. Drinking definitely is the hardest for me (although chewing milk duds until mush was pretty hard too!). I'm also working on small sips of Water throughout the day instead of gulping down a bottle. Now if I can just incorporate this into health food, I'll be golden.

Wanda,

Once you copy it, I used the HMLT version, go to edit your signature and paste it in the area you want. (below your name) or wherever. Preview your signature and it should show up, and then save it. you may have to click on it prior to previewing your signature. I hope that helps.

Mom of many and Want2lose

Thanks, glad to know I'm not the only doing lasts....I have been trying to chew chew chew and tiny bites. Haven't tried the sipping yet..Thinking of getting a baby fork and spoon! LOL

I see Dr Greene in 6 days and today I was told by his office if I don't show enough weight loss, I'll have to come into his office for weekly weigh ins. 5 days I start the all liquid. I really think doing the 2 liquid meals a day 3 weeks prior to 2 weeks of all liquids and then 2 weeks all liquid post op is too much....when it was 1 liquid meal a day, I was losing an average of 2 a week. Made me feel like I needed to do the "last" meals.

Someone I'm e-mailing has lost so much on the liquid phase that they moved her surgery up 1 week!! Wish I had that problem.

What is everyone doing for daily exercise???

I have been walking 30min / day. We got a dog in April, partially because the kids have been begging for one, but more so because I knew it was a way I would commit to exercise. Unfortunatley in May I tripped over the dog walking her at night and broke my hand. I had a cast on until mid July, and couldn't walk her. She is 120lbs and I need both hands on her leash to control her. Anyways, I am finally back to walking her daily.

I do Curves three times a week, and walk the dogs (a mean little chihuahua and a scaredy sheltie) for 20-30 min. most nights.

I have free access to the University gym, but that would require exercising around size 2 18-yr olds in spandex. Not quite up for that.

Wow, you are all doing so great with the excercise. I can't detach the couch from my butt just yet! Also, today I started the liquids. I don't want to complain, but I am starving!! It's 3 shakes a day, plus Clear Liquids only in between. Sounds very extreme. The surgeon orders this for everyone, no matter what your starting weight is. My head is pounding and I am nauseas from hunger. How am I going to last?? September 12th cannot come fast enough!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
