Tight Clothes Question

Recommended Posts

Would a tight clothes hurt your sleeve? I know is an stupid question but I'm a little concerned because part of my job is driving and today I'm wearing a jeans that they aren't too tight but when I'm sitting kinda hurt a little and also felt like all my organs are pushing up. Does somebody experience this also. Meant to say I'm 10 days postop.

I had a lot of discomfort for a few weeks after my surgery with tight clothing. My insides felt very heavy (especially when lying on my sides) and certain clothes were absolutely painful. I'm no doctor but I wouldn't think it will hurt your new stomach but I wouldn't blame you if you chose different clothing from here on out.

take care of your stomach by not wearing tight clothes for at least a month. There is no sense in taking any chances and hurting your nice new sleeve. You have all the time in the world to wear tighter clothes once you heal. Remember, your body has experienced a lot of trauma, take care of it!

Get a doctor's note so you don't have to wear pants to work! Or a bra!

For me it depended on where the pants sat on my waist. Jeans were actually okay, but I have these pj pants that hurt, hurt, hurt. So around the house it's t-shirt and panties for me.

I lived in "comfy pants" the first couple of months after my surgery. Elastic waist bands, generously sized clothes, sweatpants... you get the idea. By 2-3 months out or so, wearing tight pants didn't hurt any more than it did pre-op. Everyone is different, though, of course.

Oh yes, tight clothes were a big no for me! I lived in my fav yoga pants and a big tee for the three weeks I was off work. Even after I went back I left my pants unzipped, couldnt see it under my shirt so I was fine. It was about 6 weeks before I would wear something a bit tighter that didnt bother me.

On the other hamd, they gave me binder at the hospital that held me in and kind of splinted my stomach. Different strokes...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
