I'm alive .... But they are keeping me in an extra day . I have had bad nausea and stitch like craps in my lower abdomen.

Bec that's a lot to take in . I've just been told Water , tea , coffee and clear Soup for the first 2 weeks .

Glad to hear u came through!!! An extra day would be good. I had nausea but that all went. I'm on free fluids so I have 2 sustagens, 1/2cup custard and 1cup V8 juice a day plus Water. But I'm not getting it all in at this stage. Dr Daoud said just to keep checking and keep drinking water and see how that goes

That's good news and an extra night won't hurt. I was in for 3 nights as I had a couple of drains in.

I'm sorry you are not feeling great Bec and Linky. I hope it will sort itself out soon.

I walked to the shops and did my rockery shopping for the soft food phase! Lots of canned tuna, salmon, and chicken. Deli ham and chicken breast. Smoked salmon. String cheese. Baby bels. Crackers. eggs (hope I can tolerate them). Cereal. I am so excited! I also picked up a few kinds of gravy and finishing sauces.

I also planned my purée phase food really well because I am almost out of it. All I have left is a few portions of the tuna and a couple of the chicken and rice.

Thanks heaps , I'm getting better as the hours go by. My mum god bless her is madly cooking up 2 weeks of broth , just hope I can stomach it . But planning ahead with meals is defiantly the key .

You know it still amazes me how much my thinking still has to change about what my capacity is post sleeve. I never realised how much I felt I couldn't do- and that I had gotten to the point where I was so unhealthy I really couldn't accomplish basic things. For example, I went to work for four hours this morning, came home and reorganised my study, the linen press and my wardrobe. Then I went and swept the patios, cleaned the rest of the house and vacuumed and mopped. And I still have plenty of energy! Before I could never have even considered doing this let along without breaking a sweat - literally :) Love, love LOVE my sleeve...& a recent (sort of NSV) I now no longer weigh the most in my family :) my dad now wears that title (as he should) lol. Can't believe it was only 9 months ago that I had the surgery - so many changes, so many things happening!! It's bloody amazing!

Just have to boast as I know you will understand. I bought a size 10 Sportscraft skirt yesterday and it has a fitted waist band and it's NOT stretchy. Tried on the 12 first thinking that was wishful thinking, but the waist was too loose. I have also started wearing belts again after many years. Love clinching in my new waistline!

Lisa's, you are truly my inspiration. I have a lot of weight to lose and following your journey makes me realise that I too can do this and transform my life. I can't wait until I have my sleeve and join u all on the losers bench! Hopefully in just over a month I will b sleeved too and on my way to freedom.

Absolutely you will do it!! And I can't believe how quickly the time has gone since I got out of hospital until now!! I am sure these last three months will fly by too- I am posting some good losses again (lost 1.6 kg last week) so with any luck I will be somewhere in the 70's when I see my surgeon is September :) only 18 kg to go!! Woot!!

Ok guys tomorrow I start soft foods, AND tomorrow is Tuesday, meaning I have to pack every meal but Breakfast since I won't be home until 11 pm. So here is my plan:

Breakfast: pumpkin ricotta purée at home

Morning snack: fruit cup, 1/2 cup milk in my coffee

Lunch: canned chicken (Caesar flavor)

Afternoon snack: 50g shaved leg. Ham, 1 string cheese, 1 tsp mustard

Evening: 40g hummus, 3 cruskits, 1 string cheese

I will also pack one optislim in case something doesn't agree with me. I'm nervous!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
