My sleeve was done on April 16th. I'm now on mushy foods. I can't stomach another piece of fish of any kind. I was thinking of eating some Chili I was told that Wendy's chili is healthy. Should I try it my sleeve is three weeks old?

Maybe the juice and Beans, but I would not do ground beef at 3 weeks out. That's one of the hardest meats to digest.

My program allowed deli meats at 3 weeks out, and soft meats (think canned). Yes, tuna is one of them, but there's also ham, chicken, the "potted meat products" like Underwood stuff, etc. Are you allowed any of that? I'm kind of a food snob, but I love canned Hormel ham with some miracle whip - "ham salad." It's the only form of ham I ever eat, and the only time I ever eat miracle whip. But for some reason I love the two together.

You also don't have to eat meat, if nothing is sounding good or allowed on your plan.

Around 4 weeks I made some fish chowder (cod) and lived on that for a few days, but if you're fished out, that's not much help.

You're probably eating so little that limiting yourself to nothing but purely "healthy" may not be your best option this early on. I'm using reasonably good judgment but I'm catering to my palate at the same time. My doctor supported my reasoning and feels that taking in a reasonable amount of calories should be as important a goal as eating healthy. Don;t get me wrong, I'm not shoving chocolate down my throat at every opportunity (or at all), I'm just eating what I please in greatly reduced quantities. I'm probably not taking in more than 500 calories in food (with another 260 in Protein drinks) daily. Don;t abuse your sleeve, tho, by eating too much or eating foods that are too hard to process.

WoW. I think, sometimes my surgery was done in the Land of Oz. I'm 5 weeks out and not allowed to have anything that isn't completely blended and pureed to a smooth consistency. And I need to still be eating this way for another 3-4 weeks. Post op weeks 9-13 I'm allowed to add fish, cottage cheese, cheese and Beans.

When I see posts about what people can eat at weeks 2, 3, 4, etc.; it sure makes me want to go against doctor's orders. I can honestly say that I'm sick of Protein drinks, and creamed Soups. But I remind myself that just like we are not here to compare our weight loss to each other to validate (or frustrate) ourselves, what we eat should also not be driven by what other people do or don't eat. Just be careful!

Is it odd that I'm actually eating a Wendy's chili while reading this? No joke! Once you're at the state of tolerating it, Wendy's chili is grand. High in Protein, high in Fiber, and low in fat.

My NUT told me to stay away from wendys chilli because of the high sodium content. A small chilli is almost 1,000 mg of sodium.

I can't keep track of every frikin thing sheesh :-D I will worry about sodium when I get more weight.

Wendy's chili is yum. Full of flavor and Protein. And if I'm really feelin frisky I throw in a cracker hahaha

if you are doing the required Water intake, the sodium will be removed from the body. I've been doing the no carb diet since being sleeved and taking in TONS of sodium. My blood work last week came back fine on sodium levels. This is another reason why water is key. Flushing out the bad!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
