What Would Happen If I Cheated?

Recommended Posts

Maybe your NUT is a NUT for real the procedure is done on the outside of the stomach not the inside I would also think the stomach acids would breakdown staples and sutures inside the stomach

Yeah ok lmao

Your NUT is not your surgeon. Please confirm with your Doc your staples are NOT inside your stomach......I agree with other poster. Maybe you can watch the surgery on youtube to get an idea how it is performed.

Well they are in the lining which includes the inside of your stomach. So I will agree to disagree and leave it at that. I am telling you what they said and I believe them.

Though the staples are placed on the outside of the stomach they are still have some surface area on the inside. As to the the stomach acid dissolving them' date=' this is why they are titanium. If the only concern was sterility, the could be made much less expensively out of surgical stainlesss steel. And as far as the sutures go, they do dissolve & get broken down by the body. They are put in place as a redundancy to ensure there is no leakage.

Now as to the reason we are placed on liquid diets after surgery. That is primarily because our stomachs are numb & swollen for a period of time and we can more easily harm ourselves by unwittingly overeating our capacity. Not to mention that our capacity for food is so small at that point, the only real way to get any volume at all is through liquids.< /p>

The primary concern with the staple line is small hard items like seeds, popcorn husks, & such. These should be avoided for the first 6 weeks as they can lodge in the staple line & yes, there are documented cases of these irritants having to be removed manually.[/quote']

Not say you are wrong at all but my dr said mine do not dissolve they have tissue growth around them but the staples don't go anywhere.

You'll probably get a leak in your sleeve, have an infection and have to go back to the hospital. Not something worth a couple of tortilla chips.< /p>

I have until Wednesday and then probably go to pureed food. I'm about sick of liquids - even full liquids.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
