Not sure what you are trying to say. I hope you are drinking more that 8 oz a day, did you mean 8 oz at a time?

Your doctor only wants you drinking a cup of Water a day? I'm supposed to drink 48-64 oz. a day.

Are you sure it wasn't 8 8oz cups a day? You have to be drinking a lot more than just one or even two cups a day.

I am one week post op as well and I am definitely able to get 48-64 ozs in. At first I was having a hard time getting 3-4ozs at a time but each day has gotten better. I can do more than just "sip" too.... There is some miscommunication on your liquid intake cause 8ozs a day is definitely not enough!! How much are you getting in when you add everything together?? You should be getting at least 30g's of Protein in as well.

I see where the mis communication is coming. I am drinking 8fl oz or more. When I add everything in ( tea and what not) I'm drinking about 5 glasses of Fluid. I called my surgeons office and they said they forgot to give it to me and ill have the break downs when I go in tomorrow for my appt

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
