March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?

Recommended Posts

Surgery date 3/13/12 not at goal yet but not unhappy with where I am. Started at 260lbs. 250 day of surgery and 170lbs today so 90 lbs total. My doctor didn't give me a goal. My personal goal is 150. I convinced that I can get close before my surgiversary. Im interested in where other folks are. Good luck all!

We are all coming up on a year, how has everybody been doing? Anyone met their goal yet?

I couldn't be happier! I reached my surgeon's goal and my first personal goal awhile ago. My weight fluctuates by one to three pounds every now and then. I think I would like to lose ten more pounds, but I'm not going to "diet" to get them off. I'm just going to keep doing what I have been doing and see what happens. I'm fine if I stay where I'm at.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

i was sleeved on 3/14/12. I have lost 103 lbs. I am so excited with my new life (not so excited with all the extra skin, but I will take care of that later.) Close to my original goal, but think I want to lose an additional 10 lbs. I never would have believed this was possible a year ago, even in my best dreams. Never have regretted it for a minute!

I have lost 124 pounds but still has 97 more to lose. It's getting harder and harder for me everyday to stay focused and positive about my journey. I've reverted back into some bad habits and find it extremely difficult to get it back in gear. I hate to think after all I've sacrificed to have the surgery and the adjustments I had to go through was all in vain. Congrats to you ladies who have reached or near reaching your goal. I can only imagined how great that must feel.

Don't give up! Losing the last 97 is possible. U know that u r giving into temptation and r going back to old ways. Get back to the basics- it's what got u to 124 pounds gone. U CAN do this. U have a great tool. Put it to good use! I wish u the best.

I won't give up ;0) Thanks for your encouraging words. I'm getting my gallbladder out 2/5 so I'm gonna use this time to reprogram myself and get back in the game!!!

You can do this. I definitely can relate to the feelings of being discouraged and wanting to quit. Just keep fighting the best fight you can. I am spending some time trying to restart my mind and trying to get back that initial enthusiasm. Good luck with your gb surgery and your continuing journey.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
