@favoredone, I'm sure you can do it.

I must say this process does a lot for my psychee. When I was a normal weight I never second guessed myself. As the weight increased my confidence decreased. I am regaining that confidence now. I quit smoking, and now I'm losing the weight. I am begining to believe in myself again.

Thanx again for all of the support.

Babygirlcherry,

It's a real trip for me because I've never been "normal" weight in my life!!.. I was born 2 months premature and weighed in at a whooping 1 lb 6 oz... I wasn't expected to live, but thank God I did... I was on a constant regimen of steroids and other meds for pneumonia, resp infections and stuff.. Had a seizure at 3 and was given meds and started blowing up!!! I've been overweight as long as I can remember. I get a little freaked out about being "normal" weight.. since I've never experienced it.. and I have no point of reference..

I'm blessed to have a family and friends who constantly affirmed me and it helped that I was smart, an artist and quite charming!! LOL... Never had a confidence issue as an adult (as a teenager definitely)... well, until my ex 2 years ago.. I'm glad I'm almost back to my old self, only smaller and more positive!!

You are doing great and I look forward to hearing more about your journey!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
