I Did Something Very Stupid Today

Recommended Posts

I work for myself, and sometimes that means really long days. This morning I headed out thinking I'd eat my Protein Bar from my purse for Breakfast. Whoops, no Protein Bar. I was crazy busy and stopped for Water a couple of times, but didn't find anything at either stop that I felt okay with eating. At 2pm, I had some family crap come up (you know how it goes) that left me pretty upset and food went out of my head totally.

By 5:30, I was home and I was a blubbering, ready to keel over and die, practically suicidal, mess. It wasn't until 7pm that I realized I hadn't eaten all day. By then, I could barely manage half a piece of chicken. However, once it kicked in, I started feeling like ME again.

Moral of the story: ALWAYS stick to your schedule and eat. I discovered today that, although I don't feel hunger, I am totally insane when I don't fuel my body. Shame on me for letting it happen.

I have re-stocked my protein bar supply in my purse.

So glad you were able to choke down the chicken. I've felt like this both before and after surgery, and you're are right, the best thing you can do is to fuel your body. Glad you are back in action!

So sorry Lissa!

I do get hungry, but if I'm busy sometimes I ignore it and it goes away quick. Thank goodness I haven't gone all day yet. Glad you are back on an even keel and thanks for the warning! I'm nuts enough without throwing anything extra in the mix :-)

I was so far behind today that I didn't even turn on my coffee maker! :) I do add Protein Powder to my Decaf coffee usually. I now have an emergency supply of Protein Bars and a partial can of Click in the car for days like today. Here's hoping I don't have to use it anytime soon! :)

I was going to ask the same thing but I found it. It is a brand of coffee flavored Protein drinks. http://drinkclick.com/

Something similar happened to me today. I had my shake for Breakfast and then I went to work. I got in my car around 4pm and realized I didn't have anything for lunch. And I barely drank anything. I rushed home and ate a sugar free Popsicle and a string cheese stick. :/

Does Click have caffeine? The website sounded like it did and I didn't see a Decaf option. Did I miss it? I have to be on decaf for awhile, maybe forever....I can't remember.....sigh.....

I'm sorry you had a terrible day. You're right though, you need to focus on getting your Protein in above all. Take care of yourself. Great idea to put an emergency supply in the car and you're purse.

Hope tomorrow is better.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
