I had the sleeve in June of 2013 in Great Falls, Mt. and had a leak 4 times with in a 6 month period also during that time also 4 infections due to the leak. But as of today I feel great and yes I would do it again and I would say this operation is the best out of the one's they offer.

My bypassed stomach became extremely bloated putting me at risk of rupture and/or perforation. I had to have a procedure to relieve the pressure. My doc said she had only seen it once before. There where complications with the procedure and I am still in a lot of pain.

Add me to the list of complications

I will not go into all the details here simply because I don't have time to type it all out.

I will begin with YES in heart beat I would do it all over again!

I had my surgery in the USA with a US surgeon who I would go to again and would recommed, my complications had nothing to do with him.

I was out of work for 8 months, pretty much stuck in a recliner or hospital bed that whole time. At times I needed somebody to be with me 24/7.

3 weeks after my surgery I develpoed multiple abcesess with a big leak.

I was in the hospital 7 different times from 8 nights (twice) to 3-5 nights the other times

I was cut open twice- exploritory surgery the first time and the second 10 inches long-5 inchs deep and 5 inches 5 for drain and for surgeon to vacuum and irregate.

I was an NPO (nothing by mouth) patient and on a feeding tube from Aug 13, 2014 to March 3, 2015- all I could have was ice chips and about 1/3 of a popsicle a day.

I had to have a PICC line for 7 weeks (IV they put in your arm to give you extra nutrition)

My feeding tube was removed March 3, 2015

I had 3 different JP drains which I had to have from Aug 2014 to February 2015

I am doing great now and would never discourage anybody from getting this done, as far as complications it really is hit and miss and not always the surgeons fault.

Keep in mind if you always had stomach trouble, you probably will be one that will get some sort of complication(s)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
