I am new to this forum but it looks like it is going to be the answer to all of my questions. I am about 7 weeks post gastric sleeve. I am having the following problems that I need help with. I cannot seem to get but about 50 ounces of Water in per day ( I always feel so full and it takes me FOREVER to drink 1 bottle), getting my Protein in has been a huge issue and i cannot stand the taste of the unflavored Unjury Protein Powder, I seem very constipated and my latest issue has been irregularity in what once was a normal and very regular period. Are these complaints normal and will these problems improve? I have lost 40 pounds in the last 7 weeks

Covergirl77, you have a new stomach. Is swollen and you do feel everything. You will have to learn you stomach all over again. Like how you know when your hungry, full, or your stomach don't agree with what your eating. I'm 4weeks out. Believe me it gets better. I'm returning to work soon. I can lay flat now and I'm ready to exercise. I have very little pain (only if I'm over doing something).

Let's say you'll have TOM The day of your survey ?

I got mine right as I was getting ready to leave for the hospital!

It wasn't a big deal at all, they gave me a pad to wear with some mesh undies. They see it all the time.

So no biggie!

I am a newbie to the forum and this was valuable information. I had my surgery on Dec 23 2014, and I have my first appointment today (2 weeks post-op). I have tolerated Protein drinks (GNC Lean Protein 25) very well. I have also tolerated beef and chicken broth, popsicles and Jello. Waiting to see if I will be put on a pureed diet today. According to my scale, I have dropped 18 pounds since that time.

I have a question I know we are supposed to try and get 60 grams of Protein but does anyone know how many carbs and fat is the right amount and not to much?

Hello everyone. This is my first post. I had my surgery Monday 3/16. I wanted to know if being thirsty all the time is normal? The sips just don't satisfy to quench my thirst. What can I do?

@@nikkimarie_1991 -- I am five weeks postop and have gone from a 9-1/2 to a 9 in my shoe size. I have a friend who had the surgery about four years ago -- she was an 8-1/2 and is now a 7. So YES!! Your feet will get smaller!! Pretty sandals in your future!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
