Pad Or No Pad During Surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have to use a pad everyday for Incontinence when I laugh or cough. What should I do on my surgery date? anyone else have this issue? Thanks

Some surgeons have their patients put on catheters for the surgery. I'm guessing that if your surgeon has you catheterized, then you would likely not have to worry about the incontinence issue. :) It might be best to bring up the topic with your surgeon.

I don't know what your surgeon will do, but with mine I was not allowed to drink anything after midnight the night before surgery. They made me try to go the bathroom multiple times the morning of my surgery to make sure I got everything out.

I'd check with the surgeon. My guess is that they will give you a catheter. You won't be able to pee for a day or two after surgery anyway because of the anesthesia. At least that was my experience.

I didn't wear any panties into surgery and I woke up with a catheter and I thought I wasn't getting one. Oh the horror! Lol

What are the side effects? I was told the medicine can interfere with **ahem** orgasims (sorry for TMI). mine isn't too bad but its getting worse. hopeing it will lessen after surgery but unwilling to give up one of the few good things in my life....lmao

They catherize you once you are put under. They took mine out a few hours after surgery so I could start walking, then I was able to walk to the bathroom myself. I had to use the bathroom alot...that IV is constant Fluid entering your body. After they remove the catheter you are free to put on your underwear and a pad if you choose to.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
