What Are Some Things You Can't Wait For Once You Loose Weight?

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah forgot this one major thing !!! I can't wait to quit hearing people say aww you have such a beautiful FACE !!! Haha it's a compliment and insult all in one haha !!!

That's so true, I get that all the time. Now everyone says, "when u have surgery, I feel sorry for ur husband".

To stop taking my diabetes meds and not fitting into the really cute clothes. I hate wearing plain T-shirts from the men's department.

Cute clothes are a definite "Lyra wants that!". I also love accessories and it would be awesome to be able to wear bracelets that can slip over your hand without feeling like you're putting yourself through an ancient torture device. I want to run a half-marathon by the end of the year and my bff said that she's coming with! (she rocks!)

I am whistful about some of ya'lls husbands who are so supportive and don't care what you look like, because men like that are scarce where I live! I would love to have a guy ask me out again or to even have somebody flirt with me! Or stare at me and not because I'm big. To not only hear the "but you have a great personality". It would be nice to go to a bar with friends and not feel left out when guys come up to us to talk. I think if someone actually asked for my number I would be in shock! *grin*

I can't wait until I lose enough weight to easily get up on my horse and into the saddle---rather than wallering onto him, which he is so kind and patient because it definitely is NOT comfortable for him either. To think he will lose eventually around 80-90 pounds off of his back to pack...I will be happy for us both.

Yes, I am looking forward to sexy panties and bras too...but I might have to have a breast lift and implants once I lose the weight!

I am looking forward to clothes shopping and looking stylish again.

I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN LANE BRYANT AGAIN!! I can't wait to buy jeans at American Eagle and fit my feet into strappy sandals without bulging out. I want to wear bangle bracelets that actually fit on my hand and have my wedding rings sized down for a change. Fit in booths comfortably, wear Victoria Secret bras, a swimsuit, no joint pain, stop huffing and puffing, no snoring, finally get restful sleep, weigh less than my husband for a change, dress sexy for Halloween.

I can't wait to get to my goal weight. As soon as I do I'm getting my hair and make-up done professionally, a fabulous outfit and having pictures taken.

I LOVE this thread! I can't wait to....

Have a child.

Be able to cross my legs.

Wear a sexy, black, above the knee dress.

Have someone I haven't seen in a while not recognize me.

Walk in ANY store and be able to shop.

Weigh less than my husband.

Get my swagger back with sexy pumps and strappy sandals.

Trade clothes with my sister.

Not have to question whether I'll be comfortable in a chair with arms.

Say goodbye to my chronic knee pain.

I could do this all night! My imagination is running wild!

I can't wait to not run and get behind the person taking a picture to avoid having my pic taken. I can't wait to walk into Dillard's or Penny's and be able to pick up a cute dress and not worry about fat arms, legs or rolls in my back. I can't wait to not be aware of my weight constantly. Ready to get the skinny me hiding inside back!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
