  1. Whatever I eat believe me it will only be off their plates. I can only eat a few spoons of anything and I'm stuffed. Just trying to plan her day but I think we have it figured out now :-)

  3. I'm betting your tummy is still just swollen, I've been on liquids (have to be strained) for 18 days so each Dr. is so different. I'd give it 1-2 wks and try again. Good Luck!
  4. Finally getting energy! Cleaned out my fridge and walk-in pantry today, made a grocery list of foods I can start eating in 2 days. Just a couple of days ago I called in for my 2 week post-op (surgery was 4 hrs away) and due to being so tired and the demands of my job (pre/post-op RN) we extended my FMLA til the 30th...now of course I feel better! LOL
  5. Just did a little online research and looks like it is not a good form of protein. Whey absorbs much better. It's very low on the scale used regarding amino acids, absorption... Gonna be skipping this I believe.
  6. Friend just told me about Profect, 3 oz shot with 25 GMS protein. Anyone out there try it?
  7. I did the same thing we do where I work, took off dressings 48 (day surgeries we do 24 but I didn't get in the shower at hospital) hours after surgery then got in the shower. Ran under soapy water, rinsed and patted dry. My drain incision was a little bit more open and draining so on my own I just rinsed peroxide over it for a few days although some of our surgeons don't like the stuff...
  8. That's all I wanted to do. They kept pushing fluids on me because my BP was low. It will get better soon! If you get home and have gained weight it's just fluid!! I gained 9 the day I left and 8 was gone within 2 days. Welcome to the loser's bench!!
  9. Complete switch Tues. Eggs, deli meat, toast, crackers, cheese, lean beef, chopped chicken and much more. I am beyond ready! My daughters birthday is Monday and got the ok for few bites of thin and crispy cheese pizza. Suprisingly it's not too high in calories, low in sugar and 9gms protein.
  10. Down 19 lbs since preop diet. Sleeved April 3rd. Get tired really easy but still on liquids until the 3 week mark. Ready to get some food. Totally sick of strained shakes and soups!!!
  11. I tend to do this too, especially when I'm not taking in enough fluids. You might try upping your fluids right before you go out. You are still early out too. I'm 14 days out and the same thing happened to me yesterday.
  12. Thanks but just wanting to join in for my daughter's birthday celebration. I know it's not gonna be something I'll want to do everyday but don't want to just sit there while everyone eats if I can nibble on something. I was thinking maybe half a slice but didn't want to do something "too soon".

  14. Yeah and I've emailed the staff at FP who give you their contact #'s while inpatient for questions a couple of times (dietician etc)

  16. Dr. Nick saw me once in the 2 days I was there. His PA came by and they had a hospitalist who came in too. I'd like to go to the support meetings but we live 30 min south of Shreveport,LA.
  17. I've only heard good things about Dr. Nick. and I've been happy so far. Good Luck to you! They took good care of me at Forest Park too
