  1. Whatever I eat believe me it will only be off their plates. I can only eat a few spoons of anything and I'm stuffed. Just trying to plan her day but I think we have it figured out now :-)
  2. I'm betting your tummy is still just swollen, I've been on liquids (have to be strained) for 18 days so each Dr. is so different. I'd give it 1-2 wks and try again. Good Luck!
  3. Finally getting energy! Cleaned out my fridge and walk-in pantry today, made a grocery list of foods I can start eating in 2 days. Just a couple of days ago I called in for my 2 week post-op (surgery was 4 hrs away) and due to being so tired and the demands of my job (pre/post-op RN) we extended my FMLA til the 30th...now of course I feel better! LOL
  4. Just did a little online research and looks like it is not a good form of protein. Whey absorbs much better. It's very low on the scale used regarding amino acids, absorption... Gonna be skipping this I believe.
  5. Friend just told me about Profect, 3 oz shot with 25 GMS protein. Anyone out there try it?
  6. I did the same thing we do where I work, took off dressings 48 (day surgeries we do 24 but I didn't get in the shower at hospital) hours after surgery then got in the shower. Ran under soapy water, rinsed and patted dry. My drain incision was a little bit more open and draining so on my own I just rinsed peroxide over it for a few days although some of our surgeons don't like the stuff...
  7. That's all I wanted to do. They kept pushing fluids on me because my BP was low. It will get better soon! If you get home and have gained weight it's just fluid!! I gained 9 the day I left and 8 was gone within 2 days. Welcome to the loser's bench!!
  8. Complete switch Tues. Eggs, deli meat, toast, crackers, cheese, lean beef, chopped chicken and much more. I am beyond ready! My daughters birthday is Monday and got the ok for few bites of thin and crispy cheese pizza. Suprisingly it's not too high in calories, low in sugar and 9gms protein.
  9. Down 19 lbs since preop diet. Sleeved April 3rd. Get tired really easy but still on liquids until the 3 week mark. Ready to get some food. Totally sick of strained shakes and soups!!!
  10. I tend to do this too, especially when I'm not taking in enough fluids. You might try upping your fluids right before you go out. You are still early out too. I'm 14 days out and the same thing happened to me yesterday.
  11. Thanks but just wanting to join in for my daughter's birthday celebration. I know it's not gonna be something I'll want to do everyday but don't want to just sit there while everyone eats if I can nibble on something. I was thinking maybe half a slice but didn't want to do something "too soon".
  12. Yeah and I've emailed the staff at FP who give you their contact #'s while inpatient for questions a couple of times (dietician etc)

  14. Dr. Nick saw me once in the 2 days I was there. His PA came by and they had a hospitalist who came in too. I'd like to go to the support meetings but we live 30 min south of Shreveport,LA.
  15. I've only heard good things about Dr. Nick. and I've been happy so far. Good Luck to you! They took good care of me at Forest Park too
  16. 100 lbs gone!? How awesome!!! How long did it take you to lose that much?
  17. April 3rd at Forest Park. Dr. Nick is great, no regrets so far! Just hungry! :-) LOL
  18. I too ordered the Bariatric Advantage from a rep at MD appt. I only tolerated it a couple of days and ended up bringing it to the rep on my postop follow up visit. Asked him to credit me on future vitamins but now those are making me nauseated post-op. I really like the Unjury powder and would read reviews/ research before signing up for all of it. I used Atkins bars preop and Evolv protein shakes with Unjury added preop after I couldn't stomach the BA.
  19. I'm 5ft 1in and started out at 202. Lost 7 lbs on preop and 9 lbs since being sleeved on 4-3-12. My long term goal is 120 lbs 186 now.
  20. Starting at 3 weeks I can have toasted bread, thin deli meat and cheese so I'm wondering about a Subway Club? Does your sleeve seem to tolerate that bread ok toasted? I'm sure I could only get a few bites in but just wondering about the bread. Also, trying to figure out where to eat for my daughter's birthday that I can eat too at 3 1/2 weeks. Possibly anything Mexican or thin and crispy pizza?
  21. I had mine April 3rd and feeling/hearing some strange noises. Also, I about died when I weighed upon leaving hospital and was 9 lbs up. 8 lbs was gone within 24 hours and now 13 gone so definately fluid retention can be an issue...
  22. I've been straining some soups and doing my protein shakes, crystal light, and water for a week now. Two weeks left and I'm looking for some variety on what I can blend, liquify and strain. Any ideas? Thanks!
  23. If it'll go through a strainer I can have it. I did make a shake in blender yesterday and it was great tasting, strained it but felt pressure after a couple of sips so I threw it out. This is harder than I thought it would be. Just shows I was too addicted to foods I like. I really think a couple of bites would satisfy me but just not physically possible. My Surgeon told me preop about a patient who had a staple pop after eating a TBS of yogurt during that post-op period! Scary!! Had to have 2 more surgeries!!
  24. The first few days I had absolutely no desire to eat but starting yesterday I am hungry! Liquids for 15 more days?! This is hard! Our patients whine and moan about the one day of liquids to prepare for colonoscopy and I've always felt sorry for them but wow! Is anyone else struggling?
