Good Luck to both of yall, all will be fine , i had mine 4 days ago. I am in no pain, had a few gas issues at the begining but it got better every day, I have been out and about the last two days. I couldnt get all my Water or shakes in a first but I did great today. My incisions have healed over. I have no complaints , today I made it through the family eating 16 oz ribeyes , my mind was telling me to go eat by I was not hungry, so I simply went outside to water the garden, when I came back in they were done , they had aired out the home and I did fine , normally I would have been foaming at the mouth. Rest assured you will be fine too. I have dropped 12 lbs in 4 days so that alone is very exciting. I am on the post op diet, not the end of the world . I will be fine and so will you. take care and this forum is full of great people that are here to help you.

I'm so excited for you newbies! I'll start my 5th week tomorrow....almost at a 20 lb. loss! And that's w only 2 pre-op days of liquids.

I'm so glad I did this.....not one regret. It really changes the way you look at food. For me, I felt best after I had 2 weeks under my belt, as far as healing goes. Plus, there is that fear of the unknown.....this is all new to us. I still don't have much energy and have a problem getting in enough Protein. But I'm working on it and it's improving.

I'm excited to see you've joined this amazing group of people who share so easily w everyone. Congrats on your new life!

Congrats and welcome. My advice would be to stock up on your liquids before surgery.

Hello I am scheduled for my sleeve onApril 2, yes I'm a little scared. but I am also excited about it. I have a trip planned to Mexico in June and want to be smaller by then. I know this won't be easy but I have been overweight for 25 plus years and now is the time. Does any one have advice on preparing for the two weeks before surgery?

Hi everybody. Im new to the site and my surgery is March 19. I'm super nervous about the anestheia and leaving my kids to do this and be in the hospital for a few days. Any words of wisdom?

Relax , I am sure all will be fine , this was my forth anesthesia and I think its amazing how you can be at rest while they go to town on you, sure you waken droggy but its not that bad , i was up walking within two hrs on my own , I was ready to be released the next morning. my son was with me the whole time minus my surgery time. all was good. If you have the same experiance as I did you will fly thru this and I looking back 5 days cant believe i have recovered so well. I am ready to do everything i was doing before , sadly my caregivers wont let me do crap. but i am ready to mow do what ever, I did sneak in 5 loads on laundry today. . i was in youfr shoes and yes it is only right to have fear of the unknown, but I can say now this was a piece of cake, ok wrong choice for words this was a glass of protien shake lol good luck keep us posted.

Thanks it is good to hear that other people were nervous as well. Sometimes it makes me feel like im abnormal for having so much fear of it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
