My Liver Has To Be The Size Of A Raison!

Recommended Posts

Hi all! Im on my 1 week liquid pre op diet and my surgery is tuesday the 6th. I havent been able to handle the shakes (i throw them up) but my doctor said i can eat Protein Bars in place of the shake. My question is... Has anyone else ate bars on there pre op diet and Did there liver shrink enough for surgery and did anyone else feel horrible all over flu like body aches and tire easy? with as little food that ive consumed this week, my liver must be the size of a raison! Lol

The "flu-like shakes" is your body detoxing! I'm sure your Dr has your best interest in mind. I've never heard of using bars for pre-op, but hey, i'm new ;)

I was very tired on the preop liquid diet, but i made it. Try not to do too much and only do what you need to do.

My surgery date is also Tuesday the 6th but my surgeon said i can substitute one of my Protein Shakes a day with two Protein bars. I take 3 shakes a day and im doing the slim fast high protein liquid diet. I am also worried that my liver will not be small enough but i worry about everything so im sure everything will be fine for us lol.

Jwelk-

I have nothing to add except to share that your post title had me laughing out loud! :D

Chin up. This is the worst part. The stress of the shock your change in food is doing to your body plus the fears that come with such a life altering decision probably have you feeling a little under the weather. Be strong- this will be distant memory before you know it! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
