I know this has been said before, but when it happens to you you just want to scream it to the hills! Went out for lunch with DH, and I slid in to the booth with room to spare. I used to be squished in there like a overstuffed sausage. My DH was sensitive enough to smile and notice before I said a word. No more tables for this lady anymore, I'll be chillin in a booth thank you. ps still freaks me out how little fills me i love my sleeve!

Kewl! I loved it for me too, used to brush by belly to plain out crease me in small booths, I hated it. Now I can fit with room to spare. Me and the wife often sit on the same side.

Do I ever know what you're talking about! I am sliding easily into booths now too. Another NSV is that I am 4 inched from the steering wheel that just a couple of months ago was poking me in the belly. I can look down and see my lap!

Aren't we silly? ;-)

What an awesome NSV! I know how big of a deal this is. When I was a kid, I always wanted to eat at Big Boy because they had comics and crayons for kids. I loved that, but our local Big Boy only had booths, so my dad couldn't eat there. He was over 400 pounds. I never realized he couldn't sit in a booth until one day I was really begging to eat at Big Boy, and he had to explain why we couldn't.

Booths are evil.

Does anyone else watch MIke and Molly? The other day's episode had Mike, Molly and one other heavy person sitting at a booth in the diner. I missed the dialogue because I just couldn't get over the fact that they were sitting in a booth. The show gets so many things right about being overweight, and it threw me off to realize they were sitting in a booth.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
