Okay, I will whine. I have a love/hate relationship with cortisone/steroid injections. They have eliminated my back pain, restored my mobility, and made it possible for me to exercise again! Yay, it feels awesome to be moving. But, as everyone warned, it is definitely affecting my weight loss, hence the hate part.

Lately, I haven't wanted to eat anything besides Cookies and chicken!!! LOL.. Sleevina's not a happy girl these days...

I'm doing liquids for the next few days to get her back on track... Darn finicky woman!!

My weight loss has tremendously slow down and I am not sure why. I am only 5.5 weeks out. Everyone says eat more... it is hard getting the food down I barely eat now without vomitng. I ride my bike three times a week for thirty minutes.

My only whine is about being stuck at home while recovering from my surgery. I had my sleeve surgery last Wednesday. As per my doctor, I'm not "allowed" to drive until after my appointment with him tomorrow. It's boring here at home. At least I've been able to catch up with Misfits on Hulu. I should probably get around to reading World War Z since my husband brought that home from the library for me. Oh, and it's rainy and cold out, so I cannot wander out for a walk at the moment. :(

Gosh, I have nothing to whine about. Oh, I did weigh myself just to be amazed at the new 158.4 scale #. Was pleasantly surprised that I had dropped a couple of ozs. YAYYYYYYYYYYY! But I really wasn't expecting anything. I'm cold and then I'm hot. Confusing, yes I know. Anyhow, have a wonderful day! ;)

I am sick of being stalled. I had the dreaded 3rd week stall for two weeks then woo hoo I lost 8 lbs in 4 days only to be stalled again for another week at this point with no end in sight. It's tiring and frustrating and messes with my head. :o(

i have had the "crud" for over a week now, im still coughing my head off and my right ear is still clogged. It is driving me insande, it makes me not even want to stand up cause i feel lopsided! On the plus side, ive lost about 6 pounds while being sick. Not the healthiest i know, but i went to ER to get fluids so i know im not dehydrated, just cant eat.

I don't understand how I can have a slight gain (8 oz) from yesterday to today. My total calories yesterday were 800. Drank all my Water and burned about 200 cals walking (w/ hills). This not that TOM. Ugh!!!

I may come back and whine after my doctor's appointment if I haven't lost any weight but for now I will just whine about missing my scale. I put it away so that I wouldn't be tempted to weigh myself every 5 minutes. I know it may be crazy but I actually miss my scale! Every time I walk into the bathroom and see the empty spot where it used to be I want to weigh myself! UGH! But, I have been good. It is put away and I will not know my weight until the doctor weighs me this afternoon. It will feel better to hear pounds lost in a week or so rather than seeing a pound lost today and gained back tomorrow because I'm weighing myself so darn much.

I've been sleeved for 23 days and I hate it. I feel like I've destroyed my life and I will never feel ok again.

Bedhead: Hope you feel better! It does get better and yes it is a scary feeling when we struggle with discomfort with our sleeves. Thank goodness at 4 months out I started feeling so much better. Now I have to fight my head hunger which can really do a number on me. Hang in there and glad to see your hear. ;)

Well, I'm gonna just let it all out. I still find myself eating too fast or something and my food gets stuck,,I hate that so much and wanna kick myself for doing it! I'm still sick with cough and stuffy nose,,yuck! I hate Protein Shakes, ,if I drink another one,,I'll just do something bad,,I don't know what...and they make me unable to poop so I have a crampy, bloated stomach due to IBS. I am menopausal so between that and getting sleeved,,I never know what season I'm living in because I'm hot and cold,,driving the family crazy.lol...but I'm laughing cuz I'm gonna be skinny :)

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
