HI group members~~

It's been kind of quiet so I wanted to try and open the discussion up a bit.

Let's introduce ourselves, tell where we are in our process, pre-op diets, etc and use this thread as a motivational tool for our upcoming surgeries ^_^

I'll start.

I'm 4 days into my pre op diet, scheduled 3/6/12 with Dr. Mann at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Virginia. Right now I'm taking it minute by minute then hour by hour. That is the best I can do right now.

Hi All - I'm Joni. I'm preop and tentatively scheduled for April 23, 2012, surgery. On March 19th, I'll be going to a nutrition meeting to learn all about Protein and the 2-week preop liquid diet. My husband had the sleeve done last year this month and has lost over 100 pounds. I weigh 211 right now and my goal will be 140. I'm from Michigan and having surgery at the U of M.

Hello Ladies!! I'm Emily from PA and my surgery date is April 16th in Mexico with Dr. Ariel Ortiz. I'm currently trying to drop about 15 lbs before my surgery. I'm already down 6 lbs and and am pretty much just watching my carbs, eating lots of fresh salad and lean Protein. Mr. Doctor doesn't require all liquids until 3 days before.

Best of luck to you all!!

Hi All,

I had my surgery on March 6th in CT. Doing ok. I was shocked how low my energy was the first few weeks after the surgery but it is getting better.

Hi. I live in NC, charlotte area. I am scheduled for surgery April 19TH. My BMI is 35. I presently weigh in at 240. I am going to start my pre-op Optifast diet as soon as I finish this cheesecake, actually...I start two weeks prior to surgery so, April 5TH. It is my sincere hope that this surgery will assist me in losing...and keeping off (that would be first!) 80-90 pounds.

I am pretty labile these days. A condition which seems to be increasing as the date of surgery draws closer. I would ask the surgeon for some an anxiety reducing med, like klonopin, but I passed the psych eval so I don't want to reveal too much crazy, at least not until after the surgery is competed.

So, good luck and I am really looking forward to hearing the story of your remarkable journey.

Hey guys and gals, I just found this group and thought what the hey, I'll join. I had surgery 3/5 and am now about 97 lbs down as of 9/1/12. I would like to lose about 7-10 more lbs, but we'll see. Hope you all are great!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
