One Month After Being Sleeved! 20 Lbs Down! Pics Attached!

Recommended Posts

Lovin my sleeve! I am one month out and have lost 20 lbs as of a few days ago. I only weigh myself on Mondays so I may have lost a few more lbs since then. If I had any tips to give it would be to make sure you are getting as close to your goal for liquids and Protein as you can each day as well as moving as much as possible! It will keep you energized along with help in the weight coming off!!! I still have a long ways to go but I am very satisfied with my progress so far. I started in size 24 pants that fit a lil tight and a size 2-3x shirt,I'm now in size 20 pants that fit perfect and a size XL shirt!!!! =))) My goal for the next 30 days is to lose at least another 20 lbs. Here are a couple before and after pics,I do still have alot to lose,it's only been a month since surgery. :/

WOW! Keep up the good work! Could you tell me about how many grams of Protein you get everyday on average? And Water? I struggle to get in 50 grams.

Thank you! I am averaging about 40-60 grams of Protein a day,I seriously need to work on upping it but I try as hard as I can. You need between 60-80 grams, some docs even say 100! I am averaging anywhere between 20 ounces(on a bad or very busy day) and 60 ounces of liquids a day. You need at least 64 ounces so I need to up that too. It requires constant sipping. It is do-able,I just think our sleeves take a while to adjust and for all of the swelling to go down completely. I think this next month I will be able to reach my liquid and protein goals more easily. =) I do feel like I would have maybe lost more in my first month if I would have consumed more liquids and protein, but 20 lbs is still awesome so I'll def take that! Oh,one good trick to getting some of your liquids AND Proteins in at the same time is to get a 20 oz bottle full of Water, add a thing of lemonade crystal light to it,then add a whole packet (or scoop if you bought a whole container) of strawberry Protein powder. Makes the most refreshing strawberry lemonade drink and if you finish the whole thing that's 20 ozs of water(1/3 of your Fluid intake for the day) and 20 grams of protein! I use the Strawberry Sorbet from powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, love love love it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
