An Introduction Of Me...

Recommended Posts

I have tried writing this thread many times but always end up hitting 'cancel' in the end. When I typed the topic it made me think "Who Am I"? I always end up introducing myself as "so and so's wife/mom" that I forgot for a moment who I was and that I was joining this forum for me, not my husband or children. So here goes, I am an energetic, well organized, glass half full kind of lady that enjoys spending time with family and friends, and will always try to see the good in a person or situation. I am a full time Mom that moonlights as a Forensic Chemist 8 hours a day. ;)

My struggle with my weight began so long ago when puberty came knocking. Yo-yo dieting and crazy exercise regimes have only tried to dim my spirit when they didn't work. I will overcome this obesity beast!

I found this forum last fall when I began researching weight loss surgery options and came upon the sleeve. I am so very grateful I have found you all. The knowledge and information gained in these threads is priceless.

Thank you all for sharing your triumphs and tribulations - Best of Luck in all of your journeys!

~ Jen

:welcome: hi there Jen K

Sounds like you are a pretty busy lady, wife, mother, and in your "spare" time a forensic chemist.

Have you already been sleeved, still lurking around, or all set to go through insurance and a date.

If you are not sleeved, just looking around, obviously all of us on the board, quite biased, and will say the sleeve is the way to go, which of course it is

I was sleeved 12/15/11 - so i consider myself a newbie since i'm still learning many tricks still. glad your enjoying reading the board, i love it to.

I also used to write something on the board and hit cancel by mistake :o

I am not sure, but i think most people have struggled with weight most of their lives, so you are in good hands.

See you at the Water cooler

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
