Bariatric Advantage And Vitamins...

Recommended Posts

I don't see why it would make a difference as long as your generic brand has the same amount of nutrients. i bought the name brand ones and the absolutely suck lol. if you can find some generic Vitamins you like stick with those :)

If you buy the Bariatric Advantage with a 90 day supply, it really isn't much worse than buying the store brands because sometimes you have to use more to get the same dose. If you go through Bariatric Choice dot com you get free shipping and % discounts off your total purchase. When I did the math, it was actually cheaper to just get the bariatric Vitamins.< /p>

What I've read is that there are different formulations / sources for certain Vitamins, and some are more easily absorbed than others. Bariatric vitamins like BA are formulated with the best quality ingredients for maximum absorption.

To me the chewable Multivitamins are ok (I like the Celebrate ones better), but the BA calcium chews are the best!! Like a starburst chew or tootsie roll depending on the flavor.

Thanks for the tips everyone :) I went ahead and ordered the BA brand products, mostly for convienience and it IS what the doctor 'ordered' I suppose... As time progresses I will find Vitamins at my local store that I like to replace those. Thanks again :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
