Is there anyone in NKC that wants to start a support group with me? The drive for the other one is too much for me

Well I'm not sleeved yet but I'm in Ray County - about 45 minutes NE of KC so I will definitely be interested in meeting up a little closer to home too !! - I don't mind driving into KC now and then but yes, it can be a bit of a schlep.

I'm in the northland a lot and would meet with you guys sometimes. I've had to miss the last couple of meetings in blue springs so another meeting would be nice.

Just wanted to let you ladies that were at our last meeting know that my daughter, Madison, was sleeved on Wed. 8/14 by Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Mexico. Surgery went perfectly and we flew home today. She is so excited to be on the loser's bench!!

I realized that we have a conflict with the 4th Saturday and another meeting. I was wondering if moving the meeting in September to the third Sat, at about 10:30 AM would be better for everyone. They have a group that meets in the large room from 9- about 10:30. We could do earlier and maybe we could sit outside if the weather is good. It is just pretty tight in the small room for all of us to be at one small table. Let me know what you think!

We meet right outside of Blue Springs at the Lead Bank, they have a coffee shop in the basement, The Bean Counter. They have coffee, Protein drinks and other goodies.

I think if we meet about 9:30 AM on the 3rd Saturday that we can possibly sit outside until the room gets cleared. It takes a few minutes to order and get your drink, so by the time we get a drink, the big room meeting should be about ready to be done. Please invite any other local sleevers or those thinking about having the surgery. If you have a favorite snack or recipe please being it to share. See all of you soon!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
