[Part 2] Can't Stop Spitting

Recommended Posts

So, as you guys requested. Went to the hospital for an IV, ended up with a 3 night stay, and no results as to why liquids and foods make me throw up or gag.

Surgeon thinks I irritated my walls and maybe was swollen at the time of sickness but now, I can keep liquids down.

They did a upper GI test and watched liquid flow from mouth to bowels with no clog or leak. Thats good.

Only problem?

A clear liquid under my tounge keeps forming and forming and forming. Does not stop. It's disgusting and despite trying not to be nauseasious if I swallow it, my stomach gets irritated.

Only been on PPI for 4 days. Once again, I'm sick of them telling me there's nothing wrong with me. What could cause the spitting ?

As per my last thread. Im Hydrated and using the bath room every 3 hrs.

try drinking your liquids warm - see if that cuts down on it?

You are salivating like that because your body is telling you that it needs food. Can you request a feeding tube unti they discover what the problem is?

Did you know four doctors couldn't tell me that?

Are you serious?

I will demand that they give me my mushy diet. So I can eat something. I have not had food in two weeks.

Surgery was in 12.12.11

I love you. I seriously do. I hope you're right. I'll post back after they are done treating me like ****.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
