So, I'm pretty... bombed out right now... I lost 2 pounds since my last visit.. TWO!!! My doc thinks I'm not eating enough and my BP was kind of high, so she's says I'm retaining a lot of Water.. Back to the BP meds.. :( .. REALLY??!!! Okay... I can buy that... my metabolism has been screwed up for the longest, so I guess I thought Sleevina would immediately remedy that... but no.. okay, okay.. I know.. when you progress to other foods, weight loss can slow down and my body is adjusting and all that...

*Deep Breath*.... I know it will be fine... I just feel so emotional and scared that I will be one of the people that VSG doesn't work for... (Yes, I'm usually very positive.. but I'm just having a moment, PLEASE EXCUSE ME!!)..

On a positive note, I've had difficulty walking for long periods of time due to a serious back injury, that also caused severe nerve damage on my left side... WELL, today, I walked around Sam's for almost an hour w/ my friend... and she was like.. OMG, you're not limping as much (my dorsiflexion in my left foot has improved dramatically) and your breathing is normal.. WOW!!

I'm very excited about that...

Love and hugs.. (please say a prayer for me... I'm struggling a little.. THANKS!!)

Tina

 Hope to give you this hug personally if we meet next month. This surgery will work for you. You are probably starting the infamous 3rd week stall. I just had a 17 day stall and I am back to losing. Keep on breathing in and out S-L-O-W-L-Y. :-)

You're doing well, despite the scale. Being able to walk further is amazingly wonderful, isn't it? I count shopping time as cardio on MFP!

I am rooting for you! There is no way you're going to NOT rock that sleeve! You are going to get to goal, just like me!! :)

Still loving seeing those smiling pics!!

You should also be measuring yourself. I stalled for a week and everyday people were telling me I looked smaller. I measure myself ( I use fitday) every 2 weeks

Thanks guys.. I really appreciate the encouragement and support... I am just a mess today.. but, morning is coming!! I'm sure tomorrow (well, later today) I will feel a lot better!! Heck, my once tight jeans are literally falling off!!!

Taking deep breaths and dealing w/ this fear of failure that's trying to rear it's ugly, fat head!!!

Not premature at all! It's great to meet the people we "talk" and depend on so much. I met Christin a few days ago while she was at the hospital and someone else a few months ago before my surgery. :biggrin5:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
