Foxy thank you... in not sure... Letsdothis I was very sick in the beginning and I believe that had a lot to do with the weight loss. I'm averaging about 3 lbs a week. The doc says my metabolism has picked up...

My nicotine test was blood. Most everything that is tested is tested by blood. Blood is more accurate, urine is used mostly for glucose, ketones, and Protein. I'm 18 weeks post op and just now starting to tell when I'm getting full instead of all of a sudden feeling really sick because I ate too much. Oh what a difference one bite can make. I've lost 80 lbs and average about 3lbs a week. Keep up the good work girls. The loss will come. Next thing you know, you will be looking at that little red dress thinking "wow, I can really buy this now".

I'm going for mine on Oct 2nd with Dr. W in Norfolk. Does anyone know what the History & Physical with the nurse practitioner is? Anyone have any other tips of things to expect while at Norfolk General that they don't tell you in all of the classes?

... The nurse practitioner is great. Her name is Val. They hospital is awesome... Not pulling your leg. Everyone was so supportive and helpful. It is a dramatic experience like no other but well worth it. Be sure to walk like your life depends on it. Every chance you get walk. Do all you cab while in the hospital and all the say. I didn't do either and made excuses so when I came home I had a hard time adjusting. Good luck hun.

Everyone in Newport News who was/is your doctor?

My doctor was Dr. Salzberg at Riverside Weight Loss, in Hampton although the surgery was performed at the hospital in Newport news. I was sleeved on 8/24/12 and feeling great! The only complaint I can come up with is he keeps you on liquids too long!! I need food. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
