When were you able to shower after surgery? Anything unexpected that you faced right after surgery?

I did not shower until I got home. The IV was in my arm until right before I was discharged. I was really ready for surgery and can't think of anything unexpected. Did you find Lil miss Diva's list of things to bring to the hospital? Best of luck on a speedy recovery. Remember to sip, rest, walk and repeat.

Most important bring 1 if not 2 of your bed pillows from home, it makes a world of difference. Don't really bring 2 much, I never opened my books. You are mostly just going to sleep, walk in the hall and back to sleep.

I ended up being very sick form the Lortab and basically stayed in the bed till they discharged me the next morning. I got the iv out and went home. I did wash up at the sink right before i left but one of my sites was slightly bleeding. I took a shower after i got home

I didn't shower until I came home either. I had packed things like a things to fix my hair, a little make up, a book and my ipod. I used none of it! Take the time to rest and when you're not resting you'll be sipping or walking. Good luck to you!!!

My surgery was on Thursday and I went home from the hospital on Friday afternoon. I only brought my toothbrush, hairbrush and a few magazines which I actually read one of. The first day I was mostly out of it and slept a lot and watched some TV. The second morning I was up early and went for a walk and brushed my teeth and read my magazine, then I went home! I showered when I got home also and it was much nicer than the hospital. I guess it just depends on how long you stay! Good luck and speedy recovery!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
