66 and sleeved!

Recommended Posts

I'm 67 and scheduled for July 22. I am not too old. If I can lower my cholesterol and get off my three high blood pressure meds, it will all be worth it. The sleeve wasn't available when I first looked into WLS. Bypass and Band both scared me too much. I'm so excited and so looking forward to being healthier and shopping!

DOS 12/15/11

one month PO i turned 58

now 59

60 in January :(

sad face only because i am sad that i didn't have the knowledge or opportunity to have WLS earlier

sometimes i remember my "old" life and weight "situation" - that makes me sad that all that time was wasted being heavy

of course sleeve hasn't been available that long for weight loss

didn't want the lapband or gastric bypass

past is past - done over with - can't change - but still........... :(

i started to get heavy in my late teens - weight kept going uphill

finally realized a few years ago i HAD to get serious about addressing my weight

18 months post op - goal - total loss of 105 lbs :o

6 months maintaining nicely :)

easy surgery and recovery

diabetes/insulin/- high blood pressure - CPAP - gone, gone, and gone :)

mobility has improved 100%

i run here there and everywhere enjoying myself!!!!

my 3 young grandkids are 1,000 miles away

but i love being with them (daughter and soninlaw are ok too, but i rather be with the grandkids  )

DH is good to have around too!!!!

i do volunteer work that i love

lots of shopping too!!! :)

i'm a happy camper with my new life

may "we/you/me" all enjoy a continued healthier, happier and much lllllonger life :)

life is good :)

kathy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
