I am praying for all of you. All that I need is my psych eval and the insurance approval. The insurance is the thing that is producing most of my anxiety - even more so than the surgery itself. I think in the coming years it will get even worse.

Great!

Why wasn't this submitted from the beginning though? Aetna has this requirement posted on their website and my insurance coordinator made sure I had submitted everything to her before she sent in for approval. (Too late now for you, but perhaps others can learn from this).

I went through the EXACT same thing with Aetna. That was the last piece they wanted from my surgeon. The nurse practitioner gave it to them and I was approved in minutes. HAVE NO FEAR. As long as everything else is in compliance----you will be approved. My surgery is Nov 9th--Blessings2u--BJ

According to the weight loss center aetna didnt require this because i did an accelerated 3 month program., I think that the weight loss center goofed up and now realizes it .. any how hope this wait is worth it..

Hey everyone, I have a question...

What constitutes as "proof" when they ask for the past 2 years of weight records? I have BCBS Federal and I want to know so in case they ask, I have it ready.

thanks!

Yep they goofed up. ARGH! It IS required by Aetna. It is on their website. I did the accelerated 3 month program too and had to provide 2009 & 10. Gosh I hope it goes smoothly now!!!

Why not call BCBS and ask what their requirements are? Aetna has them online. A rep. helped me find it on their website and for my particular plan. Your insurance coordinator should then confirm this info for you, so you don't have to be guessing.

To answer your question though, I had my primary doctor copy her charts with my weight on it. Search on this site, I think people have sent in gym records and such. Not sure. Best wishes!

They also requested my 2 year weight after they received my paperwork. Aetna called my surgeon contact, she gave it to them, and they gave her my approval code ----3 business days. You got this!!! Think positive. Blessings2u--BJ

I have BCBS and it was no problem for me getting approved....My problem was at the meeting with the surgeon they said I would have mine Mid-November, only to call me back and push it until January! I was so upset, I was mentally prepared for November, now I have 77 more days :( These last months are going to be tough but I'm sure it will be worth it when it's here!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
