Question for all Dr. Aceves patients?

Recommended Posts

I've been reading lots of post and it seems that several Dr. Aceves patients are at or below their goal weight. I was told by his coordinator Nina that his patients loose 96% of their excess weight, which is really good. Can all Dr. Aceves patient chime in regarding their weight loss?

My surgery was January 13, 2011. I reached a normal BMI in 7 months, 3 weeks. I am 9.5 lbs from my own personal weight loss goal (Dr. Aceves doesn't assign you a goal, although he will give his opinion if you ask). So I have lost 100% of my excess weight so far and will exceed that by 10-20 lbs by the time I'm finished.

That is fantastic! You were sleeved the day before my birthday, sure wish I had done it back then and could be as successful as you.

I was sleeved on May 10th at 296 (weighed 320 before I started the pre-op diet). I'm already down to 216 and losing steadily. I have no doubt I'll reach goal.

I also met one of his old patients while there and she was at goal. Dr. Aceves driver and asst. surgeion both had the surgery and are at goal as well.

I hit my original goal in about 6 or so months I think. I got to a size 8, then bumped it down to a size 4 and hit this one at around 10.5 months out. Now my goal is to just be happy and remain healthy and thin. :) Dr. Aceves is really good and his technique is marvelous. I don't regret using his services one bit.

Good luck!

I had my surgery on Oct 15, 2010, almost a year. I hit my goal about 7 1/2 - 8 months. my goal was a normal BMI, so for my height that was 140. I can get in a size 4 jeans now, I can wear a bikini, and I love life! I need to tone up a bit, and get the girls refilled like Irene did, but hey all in due time!

Go for it you will not regret 1 second!!

Hi-

had surgery on 3/7/2011 - just over 6 months ago. I have lost 90% of my excess weight and I am still loding about a pound a week. I should get to my goal in a month at this rate. However, I will probably shoot right past it because I don't know how I would stop losing weight at this point - I can't possibly eat more!!

I was a lapband revision and I am THRILLED with my experience with Dr Aceves and my results. The first month is brutal, but it is very effective.

Good luck!

I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves on August 12, so It's been over 5 weeks for me. I've lost 22 lbs since the day of surgery, which is 29% of my excess weight. I still have a ways to go (53 lbs), but overall I think I'm going at a good rate. From seeing the success of his other patients, I have no doubt I'll reach my goal weight soon.

My aunt had Dr. Aceves for her sleeve in October 2009, and went from 209 to 139 lbs in 6 months.

You can see my weightloss in my ticker. I'd forsure be at goal had I not slipped up so many times but hey, slipping up is what I do best ;)

My surgery was 8750 if memory serves, call Nina and talk to her. She's great.

I chose Dr. Aceves for my VSG because his patients overall really do seem to have the best results. Also because of the the nice hospital he operates in and I couldn't find one bad review on him. I hope I will be as successful as you ladies! :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
